Default health thing - CO poisoning

Just remembered something that happened this summer. I was at the beach in something that's like a hippie colony/heavy metal village type resort. There was this tent set up by the government to help youths quit smoking. They had this thing, like the alcohol meters the police uses, that measured CO (carbon monoxide). People just started lining up so they could see who got the highest score. I don't really smoke cigarettes, I only smoked one that day but it was like 5 minutes since I finished a hookah session. I got a 46 (maximum 50) which apparently equaled 3 packs a day on their charts. A friend that smokes 2 packs got like 20. So where I't trying to say is - while smoking a hookah may have almost 0 tar and less nicotine, it still has more monoxide, which is still way better than cigs if one maintains an otherwise healthy lifestyle.

consider the fact that you get more smoke from hookah than you do from ciggerettes... that said also consider the facts that many people that smoke hookah besides cigs show more signs orf healthinss than those that smoke cigerettes.. theyve been smoking hookah in egypt for centuries however egypt has one of the lowest lung cancer rates in the world..

I can't back up what I'm about to state with a website, but my cousin was telling me that in his college course they were proving that tobacco is comparatively benign to other inhaled and smoked things. Is it healthy? Of course not. But consider how often most smokers enjoy, how dense the smoke is, etc, and that not all smokers even die from smoking-related illness, etc.

I'm not even comparing it to illegal things when I say this, I'm comparing it to all other kinds of smoke. It was a cool conversation that his class proved that tobacco smoke is comparatively MUCH MUCH less harmful, at least per volume.

i had an idea that would cut the CO out, if you could light the flavour without coals, but using coals, like a metal plate where coals are placed inside and the plate heats the flavour

Imagine that... something that isn't air is bad for your lungs.

Also Idk how they test for CO but I have a feelings that since there was no blood work it's most likely time-elapse biased (you just finished smoking so you blew higher numbers)

I'm sorry, but if you smoke hookah, why do you care? A smoker shoulldnt be down on anyone for smoeking what they like to smoke. You smoke hookah. You are a smoker. nuff said.

I hate these posts saying what is worse. Does it really matter?

We do need to end these cigarette comparison thread. I'm sure if you smoke cigarettes you don't care a whole lot about the effects. If smoking hookah makes you concerned about the effects, I think you shouldn't do it.

I dont think anyone is trying to hide the effect that it has on a person. I just think that if people smoke, why do you care what it does, or what it affects in your body.

If you smoke, you do it cause you enjoy it. Now if someone says oh my i didnt know. Or oh gosh i dont want that happening to me. Ok fine, but they also have to be living under a rock to not know that smoking anything is not good for your health.

I'll get off my soap box now.. lol
