Default Decked-out Hookahs

So I've been looking at my trimetal lately, I love her but she needs work. I mean everything about her is sooooo straight-out-of-the-box. The vase is the one it came with, standard blue with gold, nothing special, the hose is blue and some of the bowls i use are blue but I don't feel as if it's been but together purposefully.

Anyone bother stylizing their rig? Or have pics of others who have? (by stylizing I mean going out of their way to hold to particular decortaing theme (colors, shapes, etc.)

I'm looking for inspiration

Are you looking to actually decorate the hookah itself, or just replace the hose/vase/other accessories with a theme? I usually just go for color coordination with my hookahs. I've never tried painting or modifying them though.

My memory is fuzzy but I read a post where people bought second trays for KM's just like the Al Fakhers. Don't trust me on this one but I just love the idea of the second tray that I just bought a AF solid. But this should be interesting to see all the hookah gurus that have amazing vases on their hookahs.

I love the second tray too. I was looking around and saw one with 3 trays the other day, but I don't remember where.

Good question man, I've actually never seen a cosmetically "modded" hookah. Interested to see what gets posted. What were you thinking though?

I wasn't thinking excessive modding (though it can look awesome) but maybe some custom glasswork? or detailing on the glass/stem? Or a custom hose?

I mean I assume most people care at least a little which is why if they have a red vase, they buy the red replacement hose...

There are some custom hoses in the DIY forum, and I've heard of people making custom hose covers etc.

Very nice Photolinger, I was considering the blue version of the vase you have on the AF for my trimetal. Hopefully your photo is just the beginning on this thread...

Ya that's for sure. Maybe one easy way would be to find online some styles of bases that you like and get that type of glass work? For example, the glass work that Hookah-shisha.com carries is different to what hookahstore.com carries. Pretty unique if you look. Hookah John also has his unique line, maybe worth a look.

Hose covers would probably be another easy mod.

It looks a little too intricate to be painted. I don't know what the process is called.. airbrushed maybe? I've seen it on various glass bases. Also, I could see painted bases chipping/scratching, but as long as you're careful and don't take a wire brush to it, should be fine.

Sahara glass has the colored parts inbetween a layer of glass, so it wont peel off.

I made a tooled leather hose cover for my caravan. Actually I completely stripped the hose and re-built it. Not that you can tell now.

One of these days I'll take photos.

I have a KM 2010 series 9 chiller and have a Blue and Gold JUMBO vase for it, not only is it an upgrade in style and looks, but It holds 3x the Ice that a standard mya vase or the stock KM vase can hold. When I ice up my hookah now, I can keep it icy cold for 5-6 hours just because of the incredible amount of Ice I can fit in the base. Its a $60 dollar vase though, but its worth it and the quality of the glass is superb and heavier than any other glass vase on the market I believe. For instance, the stock KM vase is a little over 2 pounds and this JUMBO vase is a little over 3 pounds. Its HUGE and really brings out the beauty in any KM hookah.

Wow... I think I channeled your wish list with my last ********** purchase except I went to Crown Hookas for the bowl and the Base came with my AF already.

Now if those base trays would only come back in stock!
