From what I've seen, USPS tracking pretty much just says...In Transit and then Delivered. That's about it!

I'm guessing you've ordered from the US to the UK so it will tell you when it's left the US, when it's arrived in the UK, when out of customs, when out fir delivery locally and item recieved. They are a bit slow do don't always update as it happens and they tend to update tracking info in the evening and remember in the US there very several hours behind us, I believe California is 10 hours behind us so bare that in mind when you check.

USPS is very basic tracking info. I always tell people that if they want more detailed tracking info, to use UPS or FedEx.

i hate USPS... and Dee is completely correct. don't expect any information on your shipment. UPS/Fedex r the only companies worth dealing with (since there privatized).

Well my package from John was sent since last friday and today it updated that two days ago, my package was out of customs here in Mexico so I'm having my fingers crossed it'll get here tomorrow. So yeah, not the best tracking system, and it isn't uncommon to get your package before they update the track but the most important thing is that they are the chepaest, custom avoidable, and the most trusted shipping method out there for international shipping.

Wait 5 or so days from the time it says " left country" and you should have a update of arrived in the destination country, when it does use parcelforce to track it

im still waiting for for some thing lol it says

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on December 1, 2009 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

for 3 days now lol

Same thing here, I was wondering about that. Perhaps USPS is being overloaded ATM, with the massive amount of holiday orders in transit.

When USPS says the package has left the country, I switch over to Canada Post's tracking engine. In your case it would be Royal Mail I believe. USPS stops updating when the parcel changes hands between couriers.

I hate the fact that even the slightest of inclement weather delay packages.

I had a shipment coming today and somehow the changing of the seasons delayed it in NJ. And considering that is was supposed to show up today that means that Monday is the earliest it could arrive... If they continue the pattern it could be as late as Tuesday. Not that I hope there was a crash or anything but I do hope there is a good reason as to why I have to wait two more days for delivery.
