the ones from wallgreens are 1000w its not the coil that lights them its the heat. i light my exoticas in a pan on my flat surface stove looks kinda like that works just fine

Just be careful. If it has an auto switch off system, when it gets too hot, than it won't work with coals

It's hard to get your hands on a coil burner in Europe. They are rare and expensive.

Check this out. I bought it but never used it and forgot to return it! It's being kept as my backup in case the one I bought from walgreens ever dies.

I know for sure that they ship to Hungary.

I tried that kind it didn't work. you need the coils showing for sure. BTW Walgreens has the coil heater on sale until Sunday 12 AM (Saturday night) for $7.67 total price.

You need a voltage converter as the specs on that are US, and the converter is like $60

Yes, the biggest problem with the use of coil stoves is the voltage converter. Because these stoves are around 1000-1500W, the converter which fits is really expensive.

Btw, I use a flat top burner (you can't see the coils), which lite my coals pretty fast. They key is, that it's a really old one, I think about 20-30 years old, and it doesn't have an auto switch off system, that turns it down when the coals get hot.
