for ql's *******s are good. but as an overall coal i actually prefer my natural shisacos. *******s burn hotter and faster for me, leave more of a mess, and also only last 45 mins (but they only take a minute to light as opposed to about 8 minutes for shisacos). to me it kinda comes down to how much time i have on me if i have the time and i want a nice long uninterrupted session i go for the shisacos. if im in a rush to get a bowl packed i grab the *******s. kinda wanna try john's naturals next time and compare them the shisacos or exoticas.

In my experience the CH QL burn hotter than CH Nats but sometimes dont have the stamina.

Another thing I have found is with CH nats (and most Nats) I get a very fine sand-like ash coming off the coals. Which is horrible because it gets into your foil and makes things nasty, and is easily picked up by the wind! Point being: CH QL ash in large clumps that generally stay together and dont get sucked into the foil or blown into my face. Just for this reason alone I use CH QL over the CH nats. the convienent lighting is just a bonus!

i do notice that with my naturals the finer ash gets into the foil. but the thing is ashing those coals r alot easier than ashing *******s. i seriously have to scrap the ash off them to get it off *******s. while my naturals are always a light tap and they are fully ashed.
