I fancied myself pretty clever with this little setup, so I thought I'd share.

Keeps the burner safe and dry, keeps the lighting coals smell outside, keeps the house from burning down. I'd say pretty successful!

Nice! I take mine outside and back in every time which is kind of a pain but become part of my routine.

This has become a semi-permenant setup for me. It used to be set up on a table near the end of my bed. But the coals lighting make the grossest smell. Plus, every so often someone would leave it on after lighting coals and it was just asking for a fire. So, just outside my room (I share a house but have a private entrance), I set up this old charcoal grill and just unplug it when I'm not using it. Works perfect.

That works or you could just keep the coil lighter outside and let the coals get ready while inside, the wind should take care of the rest

I have a fan that takes in air or blows it out that fits in my window. works perfect for QL's or Naturals

It always seems like the smell produced by natural coals is unstoppable. Even lighting them on the burner next to the window, with a fan pulling air out, I can still smell it. After a while, it messes with my smoking experience. The first 15 minutes smoking I can't help but feel like I'm inhaling whatever that smell is (and I probably am). So, finding a way to do things outside really helps a lot. And, this way I don't need to store the burner somewhere, let alone move it all around.

I never really had a problem with the way coconaras smell when lighting them, so I don't mind lighting inside. This looks like a good idea for smell-sensitive people though!
