Default Luxor coals

Hey all. A coworker of mine gave me some coals called Luxor. They are pyramid shaped coals. Apparently all natural, but wanted to know if anyone tried these. I haven't opened them because I don't think very highly of them since I am pretty strictly a CH or CocoNara coal guy. Has anyone tried them? I did a search here and couldn't find anything.

Edit: Curiosity got the better of me and I opened the package. 25 long sticks of pyramid shaped coal. Side of the box says they are easy lighting, so I'm wondering if they are quick lights. I will try to test them tonight and report back.

I haven't ever heard of them, but they sound pretty interesting, since they're pyramid shaped! Try them out and let us know what you think.

One of the worst coals I have ever had the displeasure of trying/smelling. Maybe they've changed since so let us know. Definitely not quicklites.

Will do. The side of the box states:
"Why Luxor Pyramid Coals?"
"Superior Triangle Shape " (that made me LOL)
"Easy Lighting - Long Lasting"
"All Natural - No Chemicals"
"Clean to Touch & Hold" (not true. I just touched it and black dust was already on my finger. LOL)
"Easily Breaks in Smaller Pieces"
"Will Not Roll off Bowl"
"No Odor or Taste" (I'll be the judge of that. Lol)
"Maintains the Flavor of Your Shisha!"

I am wary of these because they have a website on the box: www.luxorcoals.com, but it doesn't exist, or was taken down (just a godaddy.com placeholder). Lol.

I forgot where I read about it, but someone tried it and made them literally sick to their stomach. Honestly could have been a bad batch of production as I doubt they would keep producing and selling the same if it made people sick.

Well, what I have could be old batch. With the website down, I don't feel confident in these. Plus, I just saw on the bottom that it says, "Made in P.R.C." (Peoples Republic of China for those that don't know). I don't know of any Chinese coals that have been good.

FYI the website was also down when I tried looking them up since I was in doubt. (This was a good 7 months ago!) probably tells you a little bit about the company.

Greeaaat. I'm not trying these. They will go into the trash (unless someone REALLY wants to try them, they are yours, just pay shipping).

How much would shipping be (98021):P.
I have one stick left out of the two I had... They weren't that bad. I smoke CCN primarily, exoticas second... They were like CH QL... Not fantastic & there is some taste, but a decent coal when you need one.

If you have yet to try your Luxor coals then you should. my wife and i have been using them for a whiile now and as long as you heat the corectly they are amazing. the have little to no ash and burn evenly. Just break off a few and place them point down on an electric stove with an 8" saute pan over them for a few minutes and then flip them. As for starting more for longer smoking, just use the ones on your hookah and light the rest from there. I am having trouble finding more, if you have any info as to where to find them on the net please send it our way, Thanks

Actually yeah couple days ago I tried a half stick my fend brought over and it burned to quick, but then yesterday an today I tried a fresh batch and they still work pretty well they still burn pretty quick though they're really cheap in my area at first 15cents but now 50cents per stick worst the cost pretty much I'd reccomend trying them the last two sticks I had worked pretty well broke them in half for easier heat management
