Looks very similar to my KM cafe hookah however I dont know if that is the correct name and it is probably nickel plated brass if it weighs that much

It's the one that was being sold on ebay a few times. It hasn't been sold by vendors in the US yet to my knowledge so nobody has named it yet.

Are those your pics? Can you confirm that weight because if it does weigh that much, it's brass and not ss as the ebay page said it is.

its 100% a KM because of the "lotus" flower on the tray holder... that is one of their recognizable symbols. my 2 KM's and every other KM i have ever seen have the flower on the holder.

ALSO something not everybody knows about is the KM "jingle" as i call it. give the stem a good shake, you should hear a small particle shaking inside of the stem somewhere. every KM as far as i know also has that attribute.

What exactly "jingles"? or are you referring to the purge?

Had to check, mine does not jingle. At least not with the purge ball removed.

no "jiggle", aside from the port, and down stem, this is a full solid pipe. its pretty great.

Jingle? Nope. Sounds like you got some slag left over from the welds and it got trapped in the stem.

I have no idea about the specific model. Most of them don't actually have names until they get brought to the vendors outside of Egypt. Those that do get names are often renamed anyway. It can get confusing especially because each vendor usually makes their own names.

sounds like someone forgot that there's a little metal ball inside every purge on every KM.

no if you remove the purge valve...

you just have to do it right, its in the part with the hose port, as mine are... youll figure it out

ive done it on at least 10 different km stems

The KM rattle refers to how the tray sits loosely and will rattle around on some old models with a really big draw.

In all my time I have not heard about any included piece of metal inside the stem and mine does not have such a thing. I am going to check my KM when I get home from VA and make sure I didn't just miss something over the entire time I have been handling that particular hookah.

Also that seems to be near the top of the stem that he is getting the rattle.

It's a defect.
Like said above it's loose metal fragments in your stem.
Also there are pretty good imitations of KM and the lotus flower are found on some of these.

yea idk why his does it at the top, but it actually makes sense because the hookah is built in Egypt with sand everywhere... ive heard of brand new KMs with sand in the ports. idk, thats just in my experience in the multiple KMs ive used. we should really ask a vendor who has handled hundreds of stems...

I've never seen sand in the ports either
But i have heard of other brands filling the hollow shell of their hookahs with sand to add weight.

and like I said the jingle depends on the individual hookah. Some of mine do it while others don't

Same goes for the rattle but, from my experience, that depends on the vase and water level.

That does not sound like sand.

He does it near the top because that's where the sound seems to be coming from.

You said that this was your experience with around 10 different KMs you have checked for this on?
