I would either go to a walgreens or cvs a buy the single coil burner they sell or go to a camping store or a walmart and buy a small grill grate. If your a serious smoker invest in the coil

Good advice but not possible in the uk
i got my coil burner from amazon however i had to order from the states (terrible shipping however worth it if you have the cash) as coil burners are non existent in the uk however if you purchase a hot plate from a camping store or amazon they work well too but not as good as the coil burners ill get you some links

Go with the top link that seanzo posted, the hotplate that is solid doesn't work nearly as well, also make a foil tent and you will be red hot in 3-4 minutes

bloody hell good thing i bought them when they were in stock, hands down best way to light the coal!!

Takes like 7mins, or less....erm try a gas stove like the camping ones, or buy a cheap microwave take out the glass plate, and put the coals in there, it works!

TBH the flat top hobs work pretty well I got one of those before the coil burner and it worked not as fast as the coil but it always got the coals lit pretty damn quickas long as it was glowing red i would go with one of those tbh

High there. I was faced with the same problem, as the coil burner I bought from Germany a year ago broke. I really didn't want to spend another 30€ + shipping on another one so I decided to give a try to a coil griller. Like this one:

I bought a 1500W one because it was the smaller one. There was a 2400W but it was way too big for me. It works good with a wind cover over the coals, takes 8-10 mins to light a brico.

But the important ting to do is to buy a burner with a coil, the flat top burners will break if you put coals on them

american voltage, you are going to need a transformer to make it work, which cost a lot
