Default Rommen lemonwood coal???

Hey guys. I have a package on the way with ******* coals but for the meantime i bought a cheap bag of Rommen lemonwood coals. Has any one used these, are they worth a crap and will i taste the coal??

They work fine but their odd sizes and most of the stuff in the bag is unusable. As long as you heat them thoroughly you'll be fine.

Actually, when it comes to coals taste, I think natural coals such as Nour, Al-Ajdad...etc are much better than coconut coals.

I have used the lemonwood coals you speak of. I have to say that I would rather use olivewood, japanese, coconut, or exoticas. My least favorite coals, next to instant lights, are these lemonwood coals.

they are kinda annoying (lighting them up, flaking/ashing to quickly) but they dont give a coal taste to your smoke and are way better than the insta lite chemically coals

just be careful when heating them... I almost burned my apartment building down by being stupid and lighting them inside lol. Sparks and ashes were flying around everywhere

The only good thing about those coals is that they're cheap.. I have three gallon ziploc bags filled with them.. They ash way too much, by the time they are lit they are 1/3 of their size when you first put them on the burner.. And the funky shapes make them hard to get going.. Overall, not worth it.
