Default Floor Tray and Carpet Saver

I've noticed that middle eastern cultures seem to set the hookah on carpeted floors, with a big disk underneath to add stability and guard against rogue coals. I found this at ikea for 12.99 the other day, now i don't have to worry about settle the pipe on the carpet.

I use a piece of scrap sheet aluminum from hubby's work that I spray painted black to make more like our decor. It's about 24" x 24" and works wonderfully even to catch ash when changing coals.

A table is the best solution in my opinion, but if you do not have enough space for a whole table, than this find would be good in my opinion. I like the idea, and if I'll go to IKEA next time I'll check it. Nice find, thanks for sharing

How well does it work? Does it have the shelf underneath so you can place your hookah on it? I have thought about doing this, or building my own. Glad someone else has thought of this as well!

at 18" the diameters wide enough to save the rug from a coal that might fall off, mostly its for carpet stability.

- I have a hookah table as well but I like to sit in the arm chair and read while I smoke and its such a pain to have to stand up to adjust coals when, if the hookah is on the carpet, the bowl is at arms height...

I'm definitely going to have to agree with TGF, She's got the table setup goin' and she seems to have all of her ducks in a row when it comes to that thing.

Hayter, I too would love to see pics. I got my idea from here:

http://www.hookahwholesale.com/Table_Hookahs_s/32.htm

While looking I figured if you could raise the bottom shelf up enough, or find one high enough,it would hold the base. You could then cut a hole on top for your stem to come through. You then would be able to do everything with ease and have your hose come out the hole and across the table. Plus it wouldn't look funky like the ones in the link. Not a fan of the hose coming out of the table.

A hookah table is convenient but has no traditional feel. im iranian and yes we sit on pillows around the hookah that sits on either a gold or silver plate. i have some actually that my dad used in his hookah days.. 100% hand made and real, made of 14k gold and one made of steel, the gold one is over 70 years old

why thank you ^_^ i saved it before my dad gave it away. I cant depict what it symbolizes but i know it as to do with the Zoroastrianism religion because you can see Zoroaster in all four corners and my grandmother was a Zoroastrian.
