Default Really bad easy lites

I bought a box of Rolland easy lites, which I have been using for a very long time, but this particular batch was a nightmare. First of, they snap of like nothing at all and look crumbly. Also, they split and break apart when grabbed with tongs or when placed on a bowl. Even if they work its only for about half an hour, and explode if you try to move them. Did I just receive a bad batch? and is there any way to fix this?

I had to cancel my hookah session with a few band buddies and I was really sad/pissed about that.

Are they the silver tabs? Just called Easy Lites Japanese style coals made in China? They were pretty good coals when i used to use them. Never had a bad experience with them. Now if you are talking about Rolland QL they are horrible.

Rolland is seriously the worst coal company to ever exist. dont even bother with them. go for Golden Charcoal by Canary. they make good silver tabs. or go for Golden Coals, you can light those with a lighter and they last a long time. or try Exoticas, just becareful you dont get a bad batch like i did.

Yeah I don't mess with Rolland anymore. Those things are nasty. The best silver tabs in my book are the sultan japanese coals I have never gone wrong with those. I also agree that the exoticas are pretty good too.

IMO Rolland Easy-Lites are the best Japanese coal out there... they are very consistent from batch to batch. My guess is that maybe you got a knock-off? Especially if the packaging is different in any way, or the coals are scored differently

That sucks. Like other memebrs have said, stick to Golden Coals if you need quicklight convenience. Or try Exotica if you're able too. You might want to also post this in the review section...

I've tried Rolland instant lights and they were fairly bad but not horrid. Seriously i'd suggest avoiding quick lights and easy lights and instead suggest that you stick with decent natural coals.

i hate them, they are terrible. Stick to 3K or Golden if you absolutely have to use QL coals.

I hate QL's in general! I started to like soex due to the little effect on taste however they dont break apart without crumbling, rollands sucks huge ball sack, and 3k's aren't that great either they seem to take longer to light WAY longer to be evenly lit, and with certain flavors I can totally taste the coal. I'll be sticking with exoticas. There's a local hookah bar that uses starbuzz so its our normal "hookah spot", however they ruin it with cheap quicklights lately i've been bringing my own coals and lighting them with a mini torch when no ones looking.

Eek I've eard so many horrible things about the Rolland QL!

But, I believe the Rolland natural charcoal fingers are the best! They are pretty much my backups if I run out of my Exoticas. They ash great, tasteless and they don't crack. But they have that nasty wood charcoal smell like many wood charcoals out there
