Default Flavoured tobacco Ban in the states or what?

here is the article i found.

Flavored Tobacco

On September 22, 2009 a ban on cigarettes containing certain characterizing flavors went into effect. The ban, authorized by the new Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, is part of a national effort by FDA to reduce smoking in America.
FDAs ban on candy and fruit-flavored cigarettes highlights the importance of reducing the number of children who start to smoke, and who become addicted to dangerous tobacco products. FDA is also examining options for regulating both menthol cigarettes and flavored tobacco products other than cigarettes.
According to the act
a cigarette or any of its component parts (including the tobacco, filter, or paper) shall not contain, as a constituent (including a smoke constituent) or additive, an artificial or natural flavor (other than tobacco or menthol) or an herb or spice, including strawberry, grape, orange, clove, cinnamon, pineapple, vanilla, coconut, licorice, cocoa, chocolate, cherry, or coffee, that is a characterizing flavor of the tobacco product or tobacco smoke
Any company who continues to make, ship or sell such products may be subject to FDA enforcement actions. You are encouraged to report any company that sells cigarettes with these certain characterizing flavors.

Nope. This was a big topic back when it was on the table. It's been in place for a bit now. They excluded pipe tobacco which hookah tobacco is categorized under.

Actually my understanding was that it was up to the FDA to decide how to treat moassel and that the legislation is sufficiently vaguely worded that the FDA could in theory ban moassel. Currently no indication exists that they will ban it but administrative law is often different then what Congress wished. Bottom line is that it could go either way in the future.

It did. It is the reason that the only flavored cigs on the market are menthol now.

Welcome to the real world where prices skyrocket.

See why the Aussies are so upset they got the Tax Hikes in New Zealand it is worse no Hookah tobacco allowed. Most smokers there smoke RYO Ciggies the rest is to expensive and if you Purchase any smokes you will be verified by your ID ect that place is scary.

Here in SA the flavored Ciggie ban has not yet been instated thank heavens for small mercies but the high prices has become a way of life.
