Default Hookah Bar

I was wanting to know what is a hookah bar like I have never seen one much less been in one. Do they have entertainment, what kind, food and what kind or do you just hang out and smoke.

Hookah bars typically play music... What type of music depends on the hookah bar. Some places have TV's some don't. I personally don't go to hookah bars as much as I use to but if I do go, its only for a change from smoking at home because its expensive compared to smoking at home.

Usually they are just a spot to hang out and smoke at, usually have drinks and some snacks for sale. The one by me has live music occasionally, and usually middle eastern music/tv on.

There are countless variations. There is no single answer to your question.

There are some that are classic hookah lounges. No entertainment, no alcohol, and no gimmicks. Perhaps some coffee and some food. Focus on conversation and relaxation

Others are just bars that serve hookahs along with other tobacco products.

Still others are more modern lounges that are filled with music and TVs. Little to no focus on tradition and more focus on the younger crowds. Mostly college kids.

Some are restaurants that offer hookah.

That is just scratching the surface of the answer as well.

One of the bars by me has girls dancing in it, like belly dancers with live music. It's pretty cool. Another sells alcohol. It's fun to goto if you've never been to one, or if you want to try out different flavors before you buy. Smoking at home is much cheaper though, unless you stay at the bar for a while and they only have one cover for the night.

Never been to one... but I am anxious to experience one. Might have to drive to Hagerstown, MD though.

There are many varieties of hookah bars, one place near me looks like a regular bar, but instead of alcohol they have hookahs attached to the bar. They have local bands play live music on fridays and saturdays. There's also Aria lounge which is a typical hookah and music place. Then there's Mango which is a hookah bar, restaurant, and has belly dancers on saturday nights. Lots of variety out there

Forget Hookah Bars, they are ripp-offs. You'll spend 15-20 bucks for a head of (cheap generic) shisha and a soft drink or coffee plus some actually charge a cover to get in. It used to be fun going to a Middleeastern resturaunts that served hookahs where you would have dinner, listen to music or watch a belly dancer and smoe a hooka after dinner. Nowadays, thats not possible in Illinois since smoking got banned in all food establishments. My advice, invest in a nice hookah and buy you'r own tobacco, you will be much happier.
