Lightbulb Lighting natural coal question...

Ok guys, so I searched the forums for this and didn't come up with an answer to my question, so here goes.

I see where everybody puts their natural coals on the open burner coil of a stove....I do not have a stove with an open burner coil due to the glass top covering, but I do have a propane grill with a side burner such as:

Can I use the propane burner to light the coals properly or no?

I guess you could light up nats on an open flame, I've seen John do it and it seems to work well for him.

ok, cause I have heard that if the coal is not readily heated throughout, then there is the issue of carbon monoxide poisoning, and well, a trip to the emergency room for just trying to smoke my hookah would be an epic FAIL.

The most CO poisoning you'll get from hookah coals is a light headache.

I actually use a gas stove (an industrial one that it's made for restaurants... it's awesome!!!) but the principle is the same, you should be ok with one of those

it does and shall work fine, the only thing is what about the propane getting on the coals, idk if it really affects the coals at all. if you will taste it, and if it harmful to your body or not. but it does work, i have seen it done, but i prefer the electric coil single burner like 10 bucks at walgreens or something.

Drop in price!

http://www.walgreens.com/store/catal...n=push-product

And after looking, that looks different from the one I got there. Should still work though.

I use the sideburner of my grill and it works fine.

The only problem is that your propane will run out sooner or later....

The microwave looks interesting...but I would think all that arching on the coals will eventually destroy the microwave. Anyone ever tried this method of nuking your coal?
