Default Washing non washable hookah hoses

My friend gave me his old hookah recently and i've cleaned it a number of times. I've used it maybe 4 times so far. But after every time i've cleaned it thoroughly, base, stem, and hoses. But after reading "proper" ways to clean hookah equipment, it made me worry. I've ran water through my hookah hose numbers of times. I've even let it sit under water just to make sure it gets all the crap out. What im worried is, it says all over to not clean it with water. I stopped cleaning it that way but im just worried is it already too late?

Ive submerged it under water about 3 times already. And now im worried i might have destroyed my hose. All the times i smoked out of it i couldn't taste a difference but i just want to be safe.

It's a standard hose, nothing fancy. One of these.

I would appreciate anyones input on the subject. Thank you

Well, you have a hose that you should no longer smoke out of. The good news is you acan use the handle and port end to make a new washable hose.

Yeah, man. The inside is probably rusted, and if you smoke it you could get sick.

make a homemade hose with clear tubing or buy a new hose.. even if it was washable your not supposed to submerge it in water......

Yeah i just gave it a test run with brand new shisha. I couldn't taste it at all. I think it's safe to say i destroyed my hose.

Thank you everyone for your input.

RIP hookah hose =[

a bit of advice for the future. if you want to know if its washable or not, take a magnet to the hose part. if the magnet attracts to it, its not washable

yup very true this is one sure way to tell, and you might not taste anything but its not good for you and eventually bits of rust will start chipping and come out when u inhale.

Like others have said, it is not going to make it but keep in mind you can make yourself an extremely nice hose for extremely cheap. Don't make the same mistake I did and throw away old hoses! I'd personally have two or three nice see-through hoses that are washable, unique, and best of all easy to make and only spending a couple bucks to do so.

Just wondering what one should use to replace the actual hose when it goes tits-up... My semi-educated guess would be to use surgical-tubing...

Back before I was educated, I used to run water through my hose to clean it.

Sure enough, I ended up smoking rust...

Are there any how-to's for using old handles for a new hose? My local lounge has used hoses for $3 so I bought one and it was rusted to hell but it has such a nice handle I'd love to save it.

Apparently there's info about that in the Homemade Hookah section.
