Default Nakhla is not so great for mixing?

So, I'm pretty accustomed to mixing AF flavors. They usually blend nicely and predictably. But today, thinking how much I enjoy AF Lemon and Mint mix, I thought I'd try to mix some Nakhla Lemon and Mint. It kinda sucked. It just dulled the lemon flavor until I almost couldn't taste it anymore, and the mint flavor was only barely strong enough to notice.

Anyone have any tips for mixing Nakhla? Or perhaps should I stick to mixing other brands and leave Nakhla out of it?

I dont like Nakhla whatsoever. I really dont understand what everyone is so jazzed about it for.

But hey, I guess its more traditional or something.

I mean, for me, I like that the flavors all have a subtle earthy undertone. I'm not sure what causes that. It might actually be the flavor of the tobacco itself shining through. But it's definitely not for everyone.

When I used to mix Cherry and Cola Nakhla, I used to mix more Cola than Cherry because the cherry was really strong. Mix more of what ever flavour is lighter.

Yeah, that's kind of my rule of thumb. But todays mixing failure seems to have broken that rule. I used about 70/30 in favor of Lemon. Still, no dice.

Also, that cola stuff was pretty gross when I tried it. That mix sounds like it could be good though.

Nakhla Mint is some of the strongest mint on the market, try mixing it 80/20 , or even 85/15.

It just takes practice to mix nakhla.

I agree with Waffle when I mix Nakhla mint into anything. I only use a little, and a it goes a long way. Try cutting back the mint some.

I agree, I use about 90/10 (sometimes more, sometimes less) with mizo mint and especially with cinnamon and earl grey, all these flavors are too overpowering when more is used.

Biggest thing to remember is that when you find a Nakhla flavor that you smoke and go "HOLY POO! THATS THE STRONGEST *insert flavor here* I'VE EVER SMOKED".... you only need to use maybe 2-5 grams of it for every 20 grams of whatever you want to mix it with.

Its that strong.

One of the strongest flavors on the planet is Hookah-Hookah Rose. I can put 5 grams of HH Rose in a bowl with 35 Grams of Nakhla Mizo Mint, and not even be able to taste the mint. Its insane.

I mixed Nakhla Sweet melon with SB Melon Dew and it was really enjoyable. It was 60 SB 40 Nakhla.

Yep that's exactly how it is with earl grey for me, I had to go through about 5 different bowls of mixing different amounts (less and less each time), before I could finally taste the second flavor.

Nakhla is bullshit.
If you want to mix it with other brands it's just about ok but if you want to smoke it alone or to mix with other Nakhlas don't bother.

I used to do a 50/50 mix of HH Double Apple and HH Cinnamon which worked great for me with that brand but when I made the switch over to Nakhla I tried doing the same mix with Nakhla DA and Cinnamon and it tasted muddy. I'm still trying to figure out how to make this mix work for me but its hard since Nakhla DA and Cinnamon are both very pungent and strong flavors so its hard to figure out which flavor is "stronger" its been driving me crazy because this mix is one of my favorite blends to smoke and I don't think I could go back to Hookah-Hookah after Nakhla.

Nice, apple jax in a bowl, I actually use slightly less cinnamon, when it's 50/50 or even 60/40 I still get mostly cinnamon and a mild anise, absolutely no apple, try around 70/30 (more or less).

I am a huge Nak Da fan and love smoking a good bowl of apple Jax! It really is right around 70/30 give or take some for preference.

And to DaSebsch mixing Grape and sweet Melon just doesn't sounds like it would be a good mix regardless of what brand of tobacco it is, maybe thats just me.

Where's Waffle? I figured he would have already taken care of this. Until he comes and straighten things out. Kelsey, why is Nakhla BS? As I asked you before, what is a better tobacco in your opinion?

Hmmm Mix Nakhla DA 60% with 40% El Basha Caramel very Good Nakhla does not Buzz me I smoke it for the Flavor and the enjoyment.

Before making a crude and broad statements Kelsey please qualify and quantify the accusations.

There is plenty of Moassels that I do not like thus I don't smoke them but I will never try and force my opinion upon others to each his or her own so please be mindful to other peoples opinions.

This thread was about the mixing of Nakhla Tobaccos and the problems with getting the right ratios of the flavors.
