Default Hookah cleaning

So i was doing a super cleaning of my egyptian hookah(soap, lemon juice, and cleaning powder). And i noticed that everytime i clean it, let it dry and put it all together again, after a while it starts to smell again (not a bad smell, just a shisha smell). The smell is coming from the inside of the body of the stem, not the down stem. But i dont have a cleaning brush to get inside of there.

Any cleaning tips, tricks, or things that have worked well with hookah cleaning? Do share!

You could get a longer brush... HJ has some that are a good 48 inches long.

A cleaning brush will help out greatly, theres a lot of residue and "debris"(for lack of a better word) that builds up in the downstem after a while that wont be dislodged by soaking, or running water through the stem. If you order online, I'd be sure to pick one up on your next order.

I just use water and a long brush.

But then again, I LOVE flavour staining.

You will definitely need a good long enough brush to clean the inside of the stem to get the smell outta there. I just use dish soap and water and the stem will be clean as a whistle. I clean it very thoroughly only when am changing flavors though.

Hmm. i dont mean the actual stem that the smoke goes from the bowl down.. I mean when the smoke comes up thru the water and into the holes and into the hose. Inside there it smells almost rusty or somthing... I wouldnt think it would get rusty in there tho. wierd
