Coconara (84pc) of ******* will both get the job done.

******* Nats are a better deal and worth supporting.

Do it, now.

CH coals are superior to Coconaras in every way possible, IMO. The only time I ever use Cocos these days is if I run out of CHs and don't have more coming at the time. You should try Exoticas too.. their new coals are pretty good.

There have been many of these threads. I buy CH Nats because you get more coals for less cash.

People are gonna tell you all kinds of nonsense back and forth, Honestly, After using a LOT of coals, the coals do the same thing, coconaras are just over priced but work well, their have been problems with the coals smoking during lighting on a few of the coals or a few coals stuck together etc. Not sure if the quality control or batches were just bad and something went wrong during the manufacture process but CH Nats work well. Same shape coal, only difference is, johns coals I would light in a vented area, just due to they put off a little smell while being lit but to me it doesn't bother me, they both work well, they do their purpose, if they are cheaper I would go for the price efficient coals. As for me, I am looking for other coals over both of them. Just because I miss the old roung finger coals and wood charcoal which gave me good smoke, if your smoking outside and don't mind ash, I smoke wood coals from time to time to bring it back to the og times 8p

All in all whatever coals you get you'll be happy rather it coco or CH.
You will hear opinions and more opinions but being straight forward, they do the same thing, heat up shisha, so you can smoke your bowl, one may have a little more ash then the other, if you want as well even try http://www.shishaco.net/index.html

They all work, whichever has a better price, give them a shot

I like the COCONARAS! I've said it before, I'll say it again ..

They are odorless, tasteless, ash very little, and they are priced right. I ordered 4 kilos (4 boxes) from http://www.coco-nara.us late in the day on the 4th and got them on the 6th. It was only $10 for shipping.

CocoNaras, CH Nats, and ShishaCo are almost identical. Look for a reason they are different, you will find it. But with out trying it is hard to notice a difference.

With that said, I don't like the smell of CH Nats, gives me a bad headache. CocoNaras don't give off a smell to me.

Yeah that is what I have noticed too CaptHowdy.

They may all look alike, but they all don't burn alike. Coconara are my go to coals, I also like the Exoticas.

I still have some wood coals and the cocobricos myself even though I am in the states and cocobricos rock my socks, but out in the states, I am looking for bulk charcoal to use still.

I have not had any problems with CH,Coco, Exoticas, Wood Coals, they all do the same thing and never have a problem. Just heat them up properly and don't rush the coal heat up

I've noticed that too, but I don't have much to compare them with. I have to get a lot of air flow going through or I get light-headed.

Also, I've noticed that in my latest box I have a orange or light red tint to my ash.. It has nothing to do with the ember.

Just get both, CN has a 16 piece box and John has a 48 piece box I believe. Just try both, I like CH coals but Coconaras are pretty good as well.

I prefer Coconara's for their ash and no taste/smell. However, I really like the uniformity of CH nats. Coconaras are just not as uniform and you get thicker pieces, thinner pieces, etc and sometimes it throws off my heat management.

Just nitpicking.

just going with the cocos first wont accomplish anything. They are both good broducts and you will be satisfied with both
flippy suggested you get both
listen to flippy, then make an educated decision, just getting the cocos sounds ignorant

you got the cocos on the way, thats good enough. If you use them and like them, then you struck gold right away and your search is over. If you dont like em, then try something else.

if you're just buying coals...
CN 108pc = $13.99 + $4.50 shipping
CH 120pc = $12.99 + $10.95 shipping

here -> https://www.coco-nara.us/products.aspx

experiment to figure out what you like ; )
without shipping cost, it's basically ~$0.13 CN vs ~$0.11 CH
use 1,000 coals, save ~$20.. not a big deal.

welcome to the forum : )

Last edited by blacklit; March 8th, 2010 at 03:12 PM. Reason: personally prefer CN
