Default Just need some help identifying my new hookah

So I went to the flea market in Jaffa yesterday and bought myself a nice little hookah. I wanted to buy a genuine handmade Egyptian, as we don't usually have KMs here.
But what I got surprised me. After cleaning it out and washing it, I packed a bowl of Nakhla Sweet Melon in my new Egyptian bowl and smoked it. The pull is REALLY easy, and I had to add more coal than I usually have (I have 3 Chinese generics).
I got great smoke and great flavor.
I was just wondering if this is a KM, and if so, what kind? It has the KM logo (I'm pretty sure) on the tray:

Some more shots:

The vase probably isn't a KM vase, but I'm not complaining. The stem looks like it's made from stainless steel and is very sturdy, has a nice weight to it.
The downstem is part of the stem, it can't be removed, and it has two holes at the bottom (instead of the 4 I'm used to). About 20" (50.8 cm) in length (without the vase).

To me (note: I m not holding the pipe), the stem looks more like plated (possibly nickel) brass.

Other Egyptian manufacturers use the water lillie as a 'logo' of sorts so that doesn't mean that is a KM.

If it were a KM I m surprised it didn't come with a KM stamped tray. Did the hose it came with have a tag on it?

I would say its a KM, but it is a stem I don't recall seeing and the hose port looks a tad bit off. But keep in mind I ve been out of the hookah scene for 6+ months.

Also there is no such thing as 'KM' glass. They source all their glassware; if it has their name on it or not, it doesn't matter. It comes from a variety of sources.

Either way its a nice rig.

@bradedup: The hose didn't come with a tag, no. It doesn't even look like a KM hose :P
And yeah the tray isn't anything special. And thanks for the info

@glostersa: Doesn't stick, guess it isn't stainless steel then. bradedup is probably right.

If you can get better pictures of the script on the tray holder, one of out Arabic-speaking friends may be able to decipher it for you.

Definitely an Egyptian, I would say its a KM but the hose port, purge valve, and tray make me think otherwise. It's still an Egyptian though.

@SonOfGram, it was 130 shekels, which is about $35 USD
Guy threw in a 50gr pack of Nakhla DA as well.

And it looks somewhat of a mix between a KM Butterfly and a Kafae.
Here's another photo of the inscription:

Well the word on the right says "Markah" which means trademark. The word on the left makes no sense to me. The word on the left just has the equivalent of the letters S M D which translates to nothing. If you can take a photo of it from up top maybe there is a missing letter or something.

Anyways its neither a Magdy Zidan nor a Khalil Mamoon.

Edit: I just noticed the picture you took earlier from the top and I still can't figure out the word on the left. Even though its neither a Khalil mamoon nor a magdy zidan doesn't take anything away from this hookah. As long as it smokes well and doesn't rust its a great hookah nontheless.

It is family of the lot I found Egyptian made brass the down stem will be either copper or brass tube plated with nickel but a strong and sturdy hookah will smoke like a locomotive. Just be sure to brush it through well and it will last a lifetime. BTW it is Traditionaly chambered that is why the purge and Hose ports are separate

KM does make non long handled hoses. You don't see they much in the states. They look very much similar to the one pictured in your post, but they do come with the standard KM tag.

But yeah. General consensus is not a KM. However, probably still a kickass rig.

Looking back on this thread today, I'd like to point out one other thing:

Not all stainless steel is magnetic. Depends on how much iron it has versus other components in the alloy. I ve never tested with my stainless hookahs to see if typical hookah stainless is magnetic or not.

But either way, as stated before, probably not stainless anyway.
