Default Mya Odyssey Metal Construction

I have been very curious recently in regards to the metal composition of my Mya Odyssey form H-S.

I have always thought it was just Nickel plated Steel, which in fact was just a guess.

The inside of the center stem and the heart are very interesting though. There is a very roughly constructed, unfiled/unpolished metal on the inside, and I have no doubt in my mind that this is actually brass. It is a gold color, not a reddish or brownish color. It is NOT magnetic. It is pretty heavy.

The outside coating is very shiny. I have always assumed that it was nickel. But i know for a fact nickel is magnetic, and no part of my Mya is magentic.

So what could this possibly be constructed of? Brass and some alloy coating? The coating is scratch-resistant and smudge resistant, could it be aluminum?

I always thought Brass was a light metal. I don't know. I'll do some research and I will get back to you .

Edit: I was on the MYA website and they say their stems are Stainless Steel. Weather or not this is true I don't know but, that would explain the weight

You're talking about the inside of the heart right? where the hose port and purge valve are? Yeah that looks like brass to me too. I've seen the higher end Mya's being described as brass on many sites. My Mya Column has this same details you speak of. Actually, the other day I scratched it pretty deep, because I was tryin to do something, and what I found underneath the surface appeared to be brass. The surface itself seemed to be chrome plated and the underlying metal seemed to be brass...

What he said exactly. Plus you can put some Never-Dull on your hookah and make it shine like a champ.
