Default MYA Razor Already Showing It's Age

Purchased it about one month ago.

Use it about 2-3 times a week.

Clean it in warm water, vinegar and lemon juice.

In areas where there is a transition from the "Chrome" plating to non plated areas, the plating is starting to chip off. It is a legitimate MYA and was bought locally. Just curious if anyone else has seen this happen after time with their MYAs. Sad if it is falling apart after only a month of use already. Any insight is appreciated.

hrm. I've had my mya octagon for over a year and I am not experiencing this.
I also have a mya qt ( for about 4 years)- no issues there, and I had an acrylic mya (for 3 w/ no issues) and a ruby red star Mya for a littl eunder a year with no issues either.
I've never had any sort of "peeling" or chipping" issues with any of them.

Take a picture of it, so we can better see what is happening to your rig

I know a lot of people use vinegar and lemon juice to clean their hookahs, but could it be that the acid from those is dissolving the bond between the hookah and the plating?

Yeah, most people that use vinegar/baking soda/ lemon juice to clean their stuff only use those ways periodically I think. All that acidity could be putting some strain on the metals.

I'd say only use those methods if just hot water alone can't handle the build up.

Now with pics.

See the edges are showing the brass/copper underneath. Sucks, was expecting this thing to last a while and not fall apart already.

I've had a Mya Obelisk for over two years with no problems.
I also clean it with plain ol' dish soap.
