ive always found that method to be dumb and wasteful. i just mix it up and throw it in and even it out with a fork. its really packed in there but its slightly denser than sprinkling it in

Not trying to be rude. I just think its a bit pointless if someone is asking a question in a thread and someone comments: "i dont know the answer." If you dont have anything useful so say then dont say anything at all. Sorry for being sarcastic, that was a little uncalled for.

You are asking the wrong forum, just FYI.

Just so the anti-tangiers crew knows, all black style moassel smells this way at some point. Smell my Soft Black - it's been sitting unopened for at least a month, and it smells like teriyaki beef jerky.

Same here, I have some in a bag and it smells good, the rest in the tub smells like sauce.

I could not get this Tangiers Grape to properly acclimate.

I might hold on to it for a couple more weeks and maybe give it away to someone that thinks they can get it to smoke right. We will see what happens

Personally I believe it's a combination of the dark leaf tobacco and the molasses. Fermented tobacco can have a distinctly BBQ flavor especially flue cured tobacco.

That and most BBQ sauce includes molasses in the recipe.

Not really sure why it swing so drastically in sent and flavor. It's a mystery.
