I love me some exoticas although I have'nt used 'em in a while. I've been getting good deals locally on AF cocos. They're not the best but when I can walk 3 blocks and grab a cheap box they do just fine.

I stopped smooking hookah for a while so correct me if I'm wrong. Exotica's are now pre-scored? These are the ones in the yellow box correct? You guys aren't referring to the Exotica Golds in the black box, right?

exoticas are good, i havnt used them in a long time i been hooked on CH Nats, but exotica are good i think with my next order from john im going to mix it up and get both exotica and CH.. both really good .
and i just believe the COCOs are almost the same as CH, maybe last a tad longer.. but i like CH better then COCO

This and other forums were in an uproar when they kept getting the "bad batches" or the "supposed bad batches" and then when things settled down and got back to normal, everybody was fine with them. Hence, where we are today. Just because people hated something yesterday doesn't mean by default people have to hate something next week, next month, next year even. Things change, taste buds change, and people change.

And then there's wierd people like me who've used Exoticas since they came on the market and never experienced any of those problems.
They're as consistent as Nakhla.

Me too .. I've loved them from the beginning .. had a couple break in half on me dropping them in my ashtray, but other than that .. no issues.

The new ones haven't cracked yet .. just a nice consistent ash, heat, longevity and no taste.

i've not used the exoticas yet, i've been happy with the CH nats and QL's. i just bought a few boxes of coco's cause i can't take the smell the CH's give off when lighting, it's just too much for me. I may have to try the exoticas at some point though

Someone measured the CO output of Exoticas a while back and found that it was at an unacceptable level. That's why some people report headaches, because tolerance to high CO levels differs from person to person. Personally, I avoid the brand altogether and use only coconut coals, which have very acceptable CO output levels.
