Default My new custom built KM

Okay so after all the hype about KM's I finally decided to get one. I pieced my own together.

I bought the KM Pro Hose and Pear stem from hookahstore.com w/20% discount it was around 60 bucks shipped.

Bought the glass from saharasmoke.com w/15% discount for 18 dollars

Couple of questions

The stem wont fit in the glass no matter what I did with the grommet so I wrapped it twice in electrical tape and it is on there snug.

It has a slight air leak, is this a big problem?

Is the KM hose I have washable?

I guess thats about it, thanks again for pointing me in the right direction, can't wait to smoke tonight!!

Thank you guys, any idea if the snug, yet not "airtight" seal between base/stem will hinder smoking performance?

Is that KM hose metal on the inside like my other hose I had (cheap)? That rusted in about 2 days.

I appreciate the help

What kind of grommet did you get with the stem? Was it the thick black rubbery one? If yes, you could try sanding it down, or get one of the "clear" silicone grommets from ssc, that's what I'm using with my km and ssc base as well as the egyptian, they work better imo than those black rubber ones.

And no that km hose is not washable. Just to make sure see if a magnet sticks to it.

I did get that grommet, I also have 2 from ssc that are pretty thin. None would go all the way in. I used electrical tape and it hold pretty good. Not sure if the smoke will be hindered

the metal coil is (likely) exposed on the inside, keep water out of it and do what you can to keep it dry. Mint seems to work well as a de-ghoster.

Nice looking rig, just be careful it doesn't tip over. The hose is not washable, so don't even think about it!

Here is my review

1. I have been living in the dark for the last year, I will NEVER smoke out of my Sahara Smoke rig again. This KM Rig SMOKES EXCELLENT!!!

2. Not a fan of the rattling, loose KM tray, ashes fall through the hole when I clear my coal mess (Anybody have a solution)

3. Premium hoses make things enjoyable

4. The base is extremely solid and sturdy, when filled with water its unlikely to ever get knocked over.

5. KM stems are misleading to a first time buyer, they appear waaaaay smaller than they actually are. I thought this would be a medium size hookah and its much larger than I expected. I really like this size, wouldn't want anything bigger ever.

6. The members of this forum have provided me with the knowledge to enjoy hookah to the fullest and for that I am grateful.

7. I really like Starbuzz Blue Mist and hate the HH tropical that I got for free, that shisha feels, smells, tastes, and smokes like pure shit. If anyone has another suggestion to the Blue Mist I would love to try it.

For the leak, try wrapping the electrical tape UNDER the grommet
Worked wonders for me
Welcome to the KM family
And beautiful rig man glad you love it

No grommet fits, used 3 wraps of electrical tape and it holds tight. No notice of impaired smokability thus far

I say only for your fruity flavors, but build that hose you have there with lots of DA flavor

Is there a better DA than Nakhla? I had a sample of that and hated the flavor
