Default DANCING COALS!

I currently have two KMs (a trimetal and double pear) and every time i smoke out of it the coals keep Dancing around towards the center. i use coconaras and i tried separating the coals with my tongs but when its time to put on the windcover i can't use the tongs anymore. i was wondering if any of you guys could suggest any tips to keep your coals staying still ... thanks. btw i use a small tangiers phunnel bowl

do you know what is causing the coals to move in the first place?
IE, hookah itself vibrating when you take a hit, hookah mildly lopsided etc

Easy way to fix it is to make, or buy a diffuser - Keeps the ratteling down, and vibration.
Quick fix!

they dont move for the first 20 mins but when the coals get a bit smaller, they start to dance. i did try wrapping some cloth around my hookah and it did work, but it made my hookah look really ugly

I could be wrong but it sounds to me like your bases are rather unstable. When your rig is flat on the ground does it tend to wobble or is it firm?

If those tips don't work you could crumple the foil before you place it on your bowl. The creavased surface should give the coals more grip and stop them doing the waltz.

LOL I have the same problem. Once they get about half the original size the coals start to jiggle toward the center of the foil. Not much of a problem actually, when inside but outside it could be a pain. Like mentioned above, methods to reduce the vibration of the hookah as a whole will probably help but just the act of drawing air through the tiny holes in the foil are going to set up a degree of vibration which will cause the coals to gravitate toward the center, which is where the foil slopes naturally from the weight of the coals. But dampening the vibrations should help somewhat.

Diffuser is all you need man. Look in the homemade section there are a bunch of diffusers in there.

your hookah is shaking from the bubbles, a base protector and diffuser will help
also, (trying to figure out how to say this so i dont make the ooc) take hits as if you were drinking a milkshake, slow steady pulls
that way you will have smaller bubbles and less shaking(shaking get it)

Make sure your hookah is standing on a sturdy surface, not some kind of shaky table or anything like that. I've put my hookah on a chess board with legs before and it was just so unstable that every time I took a hit, the whole hookah started rocking back and forth.

Oh and how much water do you have in your bowl? If it's too much in there, that could be the problem.

maybe if you turn the music off they will stop dancing?

i started it as a joke, but if there is music on that could cause vibrations too

Make sure it's on a level surface. If not it will cause the coals to slide.
And like others have said, diffuser and all will be good

try a diffuser and if that doesn't work look into getting a base cover, that will help it from wobbling.

If that STILL fails, get a beer bottle cap and put it right in the center.
