Default Cleaning the hose.

After a few bad sessions last week I got the feeling I am not tasting the tobacco most of the times, but the flavours I smoked earlier but still are in my hose!
What is the best way to clean my hose? It's a black/silver Nammor hose:

I usually just drop some lemon juice concentrate into it(about a tablespoons worth) and then i swing it in a circle while holding it in the middle to get the lemon juice spread out and out of my hose and i let it dry for a few hours.

To clean my hose, I simply used lemon and water. I went to King Soopers and just bought a little bottle of lemon juice. I added it to the water when cleaning it.

yeah that is the main link for cleaning from the site you ordered it from.
But Simple version.. flush with water and little bit of lemon juice if you have some.. plug both ends and slush around.. dump it out, swing out excess water and hang to dry.

So, lemon juice is the secret? I'll give that a try then, too. Mine could use a good cleaning. I wasn't sure how to do it and didn't want to get water all over the hose. Not sure if the cover is made for it or not. Smoke happy.

Also when finishins a hookah take the hose by both ends and whip it on something hard like a table. This will dislodge any built up smoke, then just blow it out.
Dont wip hard enough as to break the hose just enough to clean it.

dude what whip it?
i have never heard this an i dont get how it works? but i can see the blowing part this is a big thing with hoses is there is still smoke after a session and this causes flavors to stay if the smoke is left but why whip it?

and some baking soda with that lemon juice really helps, also swishing around beer in the hose has been rumored to clean well but idk

I can see where tapping it on a table might dislodge stuff that might be clinging inside of the hose but I'd be afraid that "whipping it" against a table would damage the hose. If not the first time then over time it would eventually break down the hose itself. Baking soda makes sense, too. It is good for neutralizing any acids that might be present in the residue that is trapped within the hose interior. Good ol' acid/base thing. Ahhhhh college chemistry at work! LOL Smoke happy.

I just rinsed some cold water + lemon juice to it.
I still taste some ghosts in there, but much less than before! It still needs to dry, will that help to get it out or should I rinse it again with water/lemon juice?

Blaat I have never had a problem with baking soda + lemon juice + water. I rinse it through all my washable hoses and then rinse it out with water. No ghosting and no left over lemon flavor.

I used my hose like 40-50 times now if I'm good. I just blow the smoke out most of the time, and I washed it once with hot water, and this is the second time with lemon juice + water now.
When I suck though one end of the hose, I taste a lot of garbage (before the rinsing with lemonjuice/water) and after it is a bit less.
I'll just let it dry and rinse it tonight with lemonjuice+water+baking soda, and hope all the garbage is out!

Do you mix the soda with lemon juice and water in a pitcher or something, and pour it into the hose, or just fill up the hose with water and put some lemon juice/soda in after?

I mix it all in a pitcher. I take out the mouth tip and put my $1 funnel from Walmart in its place. I pour the mixture in the hose and shake it around. Then pour it out. I repeat one more time before rinsing with just water.

I just did exactly what you do all the time with your hose. Almost all the garbage seems to be gone! I only taste a little bit of it now. Gonna rinse with soda/juice/water tonight again to see if it's gone. Thanks!

You may want to make sure that your hose is actually washable. Take a magnet to the flexible part. If it sticks then you have a metal coil inside and should not run liquid through it.

Ohhhh I like the magnet trick! Never even occured to me to do that. I'll have to check all of my hoses now to see if i can clean them or not. What a bene. So, what about hoses where the tip doesn't come apart from the main hose body? Probably not washable, huh? Smoke happy.
