Default Coco Nara's

Hey guys so ive been using Coco Nara coals for a while and they have been great. But lately I bought a small box of them and they kept going out. Then I bought another 108 box and they keep going out. Im wondering if anyone knows what the problem could be. What happens is when I first light them up I get them good and bright red like usual then blow on them a bit and put them on the hookah. Everything is normal up to this point but then once there on the hookah I barely get any smoke and when I take the wind cover off to check them theyre usually almost completely dead.

I dont think I have fake ones because they look the same as the last 2 boxes that worked fine and theyre from the same store.

Interesting. I've never heard of this happening. Maybe let them light a lil longer before you move'em to the bowl?

Did you get the 2 boxes from the same vendor? Could be a bad batch, could be a problem with them being damp, I think there was a thread here about someone drying their cn's in an oven.

It could be a bad batch or maybe they need to be lit longer.

In the oven, on a cookie sheet at like 200 farenheit for 30 minutes if I remember correctly. But you had better double check, I do not want to be responsible for your coals all lighting at once, lol.

Indeed there was. I believe they were placed in the oven for a spell on low heat to dry any moisture.

im thinking it has to do with moisture. try the oven trick to dry them out and see if it makes a difference.

Was gonna say this, I think Bptreuzo (sp?) used this method to resuscitate a box of coco's which exhibited the same behavior.

So the box on the left is fake, and the right is real?

I haven't had this problem with coco's but had a different coal that didn't like burning under my windscreen. Seems it wanted more O2 than it could get through the screen. Go figure. Smoke happy.
