Question Scared to try Tangiers!

Soo I really dont want to waste money and possibly good shisha...I need a vote...is Tangiers worth it? I realize that acclimation and heat is key.... I live in Nevada, which is dry as hell and a very high elevation...im at 4000 ft (ish). Do you think I can make Tangiers work?

Btw- My set up is a phunnel and a mya bambino w/ a nammor hose,
wind cover, & coconaras

Your setup is fine. To answer your question literally, yes you could make it work. Now comes an opinion, tangiers seems tons problematic, you see more threads here about problems with it than one would like to see. Keep in mind it also has some very passionate fans.
Have you had strong high in nicotine tobacco before?

Personally, I wouldn't bother.

I live in the phoenix area and never got it to smoke right.

Tangiers may be good if you're able to connect all the dots and then get lucky, but there are plenty of brands that are great right out of the package with no special preparation.

Personally, I'd suggest going with something more respected and known for quality than Tangiers. If you've got some money to waste in the future, maybe give tangiers a try.

if you want to try tangiers and not have to worry about packing or acclimation, get the lucid line.

I've only tried tangiers twice now but I really do enjoy it. I also live in Nevada so i know first hand it can acclimate. Where in Nevada do you live?

See if you can trade for a sample first. Try out the samples, preferably both lucid and regular. If it suits you, go ahead and spend some cash.

Forum provides some great trade opportunities.

Go for lucid first and see if you like the flavors. If you do and want a buzz then try for the noir line.

If you want some advice on acclimating tangiers, PM Zero. He is a tangiers nut living in AZ and has had no problems acclimating it.

I would say try the lucid first. From what I hear it's easier to acclimate and smoke. If you like it then go to the Noir line. I see people who love tangiers and those who hate it. Every person is different and so are their tastes.

I would suggest if you are worried about the cash to do a trade and see if you like it and it's worth your time and money. I think that you should give it a try and see if you like it. If you don't, nothing is really lost and you will know for future purchases if you want to spend the cash.

I'm currently residing in Tucson,Az atm and I haven't had any problems with acclimation any place I've lived. That includes Az, Nv, Japan, and Thailand. Tangiers is my fav. period. Occasionally your first bowl you go for might be a bit soon, but you'll now that once you heat it up. But then you're probably only an hour or so off form it being ready. You can kinda go by the smell of the shisha. The aroma of the flavor will start to come outmore as it acclimates (most flavors). Once you get the full aroma poppin fromthe container its probably time to give it a go. It's true there's alot of brands out there that don't require an acclimation process, and they're good too,But every brand have a certain "feel" to them, it wouldn't hurt to expand your horizons and give it a try. Just be patient until you get the feel for it.

Hmm last note (lol): I would definetly say start with their lucid brand if your still sketchy on the process. Almost no acclimation, hell of alot less buzz, but still good quality flavor and smoke.

I have a question to add to this. The lucid line acclimates easier, i conclude that from statement after statement of this. Its also less of a buzz. My question is, when most people decide to try tangiers, isn't it particularly for the buzz?
OR.....
is it because tangiers makes a superior product?
Is the lucid line as good as the noir?
How does the lucid line compare to similarly strengthen tobaccos?
Sorry to add so many questions to this thread, but the responses got me very curious.

Much of the following that tangiers has is because of the buzz factor.
I believe that they make a good product that is middle of the road regarding price.
The lucid line is different. it depends on what you want from your session.
What do you mean by "How does the lucid line compare to similarly strengthen tobaccos?"

Do you mean in regards to nicotine content? It's low to medium depending on the blend. Some seem stronger than others. Most are similar to AF I'd say.

I'd like to try Tangiers but I don't have the first clue as to what the difference is between it and regular shisha. I know it smokes differently than regular shisha but I don't know what that is either. Does anybody have any good links so I can learn what Tangiers is all about? Thanks

Pretty basic. I empty entire baggy in to a tupperware container, leaving it open, and stir it up every so often. for 4 to 6 hours. Sometimes I have to go to work so it get left open alittle longer like 8 or so. It'll dry up abit but stirring it get all of it moist. by the time its done it'll have same consistsancy as SB or something like that. Then i keep it sealed up, usually open the container to air out abit(10 min.) before i make a bowl- usually by the time the hookah is set up and coco's are about ready on the stove.

Just opened another bag of this, it's a favorite. I lucked out with this, it acclimated overnight. Got up stirred it the next morning and it smelled of orange. Personally, if your somewhat new to hookah still, give the Lucid line a try, I'd recommend the Horchata or if your looking for something different, Kashmir Cherry. Then once you a bit more experienced, go for the noir line.
