Okay in order for us to better help you we need to know: what tobacco you are using, what bowl you are using, foil or screen, hole pattern, the brand of coals and how many, if you are using a wind cover and how you packed your tobacco. Also if you let your bowl warm up for a couple mins before trying to smoke.

Sorda but not really, now we know you are using cleopatra and a egyptian bowl. We still need to know what coals and how many, how you are packing your bowl, is there a wind cover involved and if you use foil or a screen. Help us help you, lol.

Sounds to me like you're not getting enough heat on it with just a coal broken in half. You need to use one or two whole ones with the windcover if you want any results. Quicklights don't burn hot enough to do well on their own, let alone broken in half.

hows the hubbly bubbly action working? I would say with that bowl you will need 3 of those coals to start then go down to 2 once its rolling and rotate the 3rd one on and off to adjust heat

Woah man, he's using QLs. I don't know if I would ever use more than one on a bowl at a time. Make sure all the grommets are giving a good seal, and use a whole QL, moving it around the bowl every now and then.

Quicklights provide mondo heat, compared to cocos. You can get away with 3 cocos on a mod bowl, but not 3 qls on a mod bowl.
From my understanding you're using a quick lights, but if you're using nats you can put 2-3 on.

the flavor intensity varies from each individual flavor and brand. if you get a different bowl go with a vortex or phunnel. Don't bother asking us which one of those are better because we will never agree. Just search the forums. If you buy natural coals you can light them on your stove.

I'll take that bowl off your hands if you are wanting to get a different one.

I would get both a phunnel and a vortex to see which you like if you do get a new bowl)

With that bowl in particular you should only need 2 coals and a wind cover. 3 is *usually* way to much heat in my opinion.
Make sure your air holes are free of tobacco and not getting clogged.
Make sure your purges, stem, and ports are free of clogs.
Make sure you have enough holes in your foil for a good draw but not overboard. It will let in too much air and also give you a crappy smoke!
Make sure your base isn't over filled with water. (It can cause hard draw, less smoke and a very weak hookah) i usually filled my base up to approx 1.5 to 2 inches over the stem. I had plenty of space between the clear plexiglass and the water line.

- Coco coals / exoticas and other natural coals need a longer and more constant heat source. Try using a burner.
- I'm not sure there have been many "cleopatra" reviews. Check the review section under shisha / tobacco. http://www.hookahpro.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2029

Also make sure you search "stargate" for tips and tricks on this particular hookah. I owned one and have made several posts about it.

One quick Observation here that Stargate has more than one Hose Port (looks to be a 3 hose) be sure to block the unused ports for I do not think it has an auto seal system.

Also check that the purge valve is not stuck open.
