Default Downpipe extender

So as it's been discussed before the AF Large Solids have a fairly short downpipe. To make matters worse the SS Dish Vase basically leaves the end of the downstem in the neck of the vase. Anyone ever make an extension? I got a couple ideas but though I'd see if anyone had already come up with something nice and easy.

I'm assuming you could just use rubber tubing.

a piece of copper piping and a silicon gasket... or silicone cement. I'd like it to look reasonably nice and be somewhat permanent tho, which would mean I'd have to seal off any part of the downstem I covered with an extender so water wouldn'y get trapped and corrode it.

on my downstem the diameter is slightly bigger than a boba straw so maybe if urs is the same u could try that

i would attach it with hot glue but i have a small base so i its impractical but i fitted it && it fit well just need sumthing to keep it from slipping off

I have no clue what type of sizes you are dealing with, but you might be able to find some garden hose (if its wide enough) or just silicon tubing and then zip tie it to the bottom of the pipe. You could then drill holes through the side of the silicon pipe and some of the smoke being pulled through would be diffused.

Use jb weld to attach an extension to your down stem, just use some sand paper to rough up the connection.

I'm thinking this, but I'll just sleeve the entire downstem from the bottom of the heart.

All this is made so much harder due to that stupid little nut at the bottom...

^^that exactly

or take a small grinder to it and just remove the outside bits so it's uniform with the rest of the tube

Even a hacksaw would do I assume. I would just clean it up with maybe a little to remove the rough edges. If you have a nice dremel with attachments that would be optimal because the pipe shouldn't be that hard to cut.

I'd also be hesitant to leave any exposed non-finished metal to the water... maybe i can get a pipe to fit over the nut too....

I think the guy up there was wondering why they put nuts on the ends of the hookahs
