You have a wet hose.

Nothing will rust, the stem is meant to go in the water and you should clean it with water, so unless it's some cheapo aluminum hookah you're fine, same with the hose, nammor's are washable. Hang the hose on a door handle, coat hanger, wherever and let it dry, to speed it up take the hose and swing it to get all the water out.

It shouldn't rust. It's meant to have water run through it.

What Ive been doing myself and have seen others do....

Is always start with 3.... Once its going, go down to 2 and put the wind cover on. But really it all depends on the type of Shisha ya smoking and how you packed it and what type of coals ya got. From what I can tell its kinda like riding a bike you just gotta figure what works....

*edit after reading the cleaning link.
I think I will have to go buy some Lemon Juice today because my Nammor still has that new Plastic rubber taste in it, after like 4 sessions.

Depending on the bowl and tobacco and how you pack it. There are 2 different egyptian bowls, small and large (at least these are the only 2 I came by) with small I mostly just use 1-2 coals with large I use 3.

I've actually found the easiest way for me to clean my Nammors is to actually use a bowl grommet and then put it into the end of a garden hose. Yeah it's hose water, but that didn't stop us from drinking it as a kid, and the smell you get isn't dirty, rather clean. Afterwards I dry off the spongy parts and hang it on a hook so that all the water can drip out. I still clean the tips in a sink when I clean the bowls though.

Haven't really needed the lemon juice yet, but how would you do that? just a sink with water and lemon juice or just lemon juice straight into the hose then swish it around or what?

The most important part is hanging it up so that the ends are pointing downward. Gravity will do the rest.

Also from what I've heard, be careful with warm water, it can loosen up the glue for the handle area. I just wash it with regular cold water most of the time, once lingering flavor becomes a problem I plan to use lemon juice/cold water.

Generally you would place the 3rd lit coal in the try, it's likely you will need to put it back on as the two coals get smaller.

I have put coals out with water, let them dry for a few days and reused them, but it's really not worth it in my opinion.

Let it sit in your tray and if you need more heat towards the end of your session throw it back on
