Default My KM is here

so i got my new km 1001 nights yesterday morning and its just beautiful, only thing is, the big km hose that came with it will not fit into the hose port with the grommet is this normal? i bought a thinner grommet and it worked but the hose port tore it up and its mangled rubber now lol

i replace my hose rubber every couple weeks because it wears when I put it in and out of the port a lot too. They are cheap!

yeah that shouldn't be that big of problem, you can always use paper towels or tape to help it fit

Just don't use the grommet, or you can use a piece of rolled cardboard.

Alternatively you could sand down the grommet.

My KM 1001 Nights did the same thing. This may sound strange, but if you put the grommet in the hose port first, then insert the hose, it works better then putting the grommet on the hose first. For some reason the KM hose ports do really rip up the grommets. I was able to use my KM hose without a grommet or leak. KMs are worth it, so enjoy the nice rig!

That's exactly what I always do, I also use the clear/thinner silicone grommets, they fit and work better than the black rubber ones, I've actually had the black grommets tear completely in half lengthwise.

Nice rig, and I had the same problem with my KM Pro/AS hose. I ended up wrapping the hose port end of the hose in a layer or two of duct tape. It will get a bit torn up, but it provides a good seal without having to buy grommets every few weeks.
