Default questions on the over-pack method

ive been exploring this method for a few days now and everytime i over-pack my nakhla its somewhat difficult to draw, i poke the holes all the way through it this normal??

Yeah it's fairly normal. You can use a bamboo skewer to make larger holes. Twoapplesplease recommends poking them up from the underside of the bowl, through the holes in the bowl.

poke large holes through the tin and through the shisha. if it does not work try to poke from the other side

this thought actually went through my head i dont know why i didnt do it...lazy i guess lol thanks guys

I never have, but I've done it with a Crown bowl and also a phunnel. You should be able to do it with any kind of bowl, just experiment with it. In my mind, the main thing is to wait for the top layer to sear and allow the bowl to heat up a bit before taking a pull. Then it's just a matter of heat management like any other method.

thats my method....notice the gigantic "air tunnel" holes....only way to get airflow threw a super dense pack in a traditional bowl
