Default Is it just me...

or does everyone else hate Nakhla Mizo packaging? It's the worst of all worlds...a cardboard box, with a narrow foil pouch inside, and a plastic wrapper COVERED in precious juices that you lose and get EVERYWHERE when you transfer the shisha to a container. Man, nakhla...get with the program.

"Juices" ain't all that. You're not losing an appreciable amount moisture. Mizo has plenty of excess.

Isn't all of Nakhla's stuff (aside from the jar/tub) packaged this way. All the regular and sheherazade I've gotten has been. It is sorta a pain, but you gotta think that it's part of the reason nakhla is so affordable.

I agree I would rather have a box and just pay for the tobacco then pay extra for a fancy tin

I bought Mizo Grape that came in the new tuppaware and I bought Mizo Watermelon about a month later that came in the box and bag like OP mentioned.

The grape wetter and juicier than the watermelon which is actually pretty dry like regular nakhla but the watermelon smokes up waaay better than the juicey grape.

So...I guess what I'm trying to say is don't worry about any juices being lost.

+1, it would even be better if it was sold by the pound like some shops do in the mid east, all you pay for is tobacco itself and whatever minimal cost for a cheap plastic container.

I don't have any problems with the packaging. When I open a box, I put the tobacco in a proper sized plastic bin. IOW - one that's a good bit bigger than that goofy one that comes with it. Nothing gets spilled.
Then I just squeegee the juice off the plastic wrapper with my fingers into the tub.

And I prefer the box. I don't feel like paying $2 for what's basically a plastic butter dish.

x2 what everyone else has been saying (Not gonna multi-quote everyone , you're welcome)

No reason to spend $5 extra for NO extra tobacco.

That's just a waste of good money.

If you'd like, do what TheGirlfriend and GhostC4 do and squeeze the juice off the wrapper into the container. It's messy, but some people think it's worth it.

I got 250g of mizo grape for 8 bucks. I'd hardly call that a waste of good money.

I got a box of Mizo Mint and normal Orange..

The Orange Box is all busted it and fallen apart. There was no glue on the seams on the box

The Mizo Mint holds up big time. There is glue on the seams of the box holding it together

Not sure if thats normal but just my experience so far.

Both of Of course are in ziploc bags but I like to keep them their boxes.

I don't think the can or the plastic tub adds too much to the cost. I've seen brands like Havana cans sells for 9.99 or Amaren for 5.99. It is just a marketing/image thing. I personallt like cans/jars since they are easier to stack and store. As far as nakhla, they have both cans and glass jars but they charge 50% for it.

yeah packaging like that can be a hassle sometimes.

I like to open up my new tobacco and then take a sandwich bag and turn it inside out and with my hand inside it grab the tobacco mess. Once you have a hold of it turn the bag inside out again and now the mess is in a bag lol. This is a good way to keep all the mess off your hands and keep all the juice along with it. Take out the wax paper your tobacco was in and.... boom done!

I do transfer to a tupperware container, but in the meantime it's such a damned hassle to get it in the container. Even with Tangiers, I can get all of the juices and tobacco into the container without getting a drop of syrupy mess on my hands.

i prefer the nak packaging style to AF's. AF 250's come in a ziplock, in a sealed tub, in a box w/ plastic wrap. yeah, maybe it keeps them fresh, but i lose way more juice cutting the ziplock bag down the sides and transferring to the tub than i ever have w/ mizo. i like the internal plastic wrap, makes the whole thing come out as a puck

Tangiers is easy to transfer.

I used a spoon to scrap all the juices down towards the tobacco, then I used a scissors to cut all the way across as close to the tobacco as I could. Squeezed all of it into the container, cuped the bag and scrapped the rest of the juices with the spoon.

I had to use 1 finger to scrap the stubborn jucies off the spoon but I had a wet paper napkin that I prepare next to me just for that.

Done and done. Now I have 3 new Tangiers flavors waiting to be smoked!
