The article goes over that. The cigarettes are not perceived as a health hazard in that area and it is seen as something common. Both of the parents were once smokers and have both quit at this point. The mother is trying to get him to stop. Apparently the first time some random person just handed him a cigarette in the market.

Well ya I read that, the problem enlies that the parents are trying, trying, to get him to quit. Its not that hard to keep something away from a toddler, especially if you dont keep it in the house. hell, if he is away from it for a week or two, he may as well just forget about it.

Bad parenting, ignorance, neglect, stupidity, irresponsibility, lack of will power, the list goes on and on for these 2 "parents"
I highly doubt that kid will live past the age of 12.

This is absolutely disgusting. It's taking a lot of will power not to use every 4 letter french word I know to describe how i feel about this kids parents. He is 2 years old, it's not like he has the ability to walk into a store by himself and grab a pack, let alone posess any money to purchase them in the first place - there was and is parental neglect in order for him to have a cigarette. Period. Just because it's "normal" in their particular country doesn't condone the fact that an adult aided a 2 year old smoking. I have a 15 month old son; only a few months younger than this child, and it bothers and disturbs me to no end to witness that.

<-- this guy is fumingly pissed right now.

This is disturbing...

Now, granted, I did once hand the hose of my hookah to my, at the time, 3 year old stepson. He kept asking to help me, so I wanted to see what he would do. Handed him the hose and sure enough, WHOOSH! and faeriekitsune had a soaked bowl. I laughed, told him yet again this was a mommy and daddy thing and to go play with his Transformers. If he had actually started to breathe in on the hose, it would have been taken away, him told thank you for the help and to go play with his Transformers.

To actually encourage him to smoke with us, or to even smoke period is somewhere in the "DANGER WILL ROBINSON" section of my brain. I know it's not good for me (an adult), so obviously it's not good for him (a 3 year old). I appauld the mother of the new story child for seeking help for her son, but at the same time, I wonder why she didn't nip this problem in the bud and prevent it from getting even this far.

I just saw this yesterday and my jaw dropped to the floor! This is ridiculous that a father would give him anything even related to smoking. I'm glad he is in protective services because he should definitely not be smoking that "well" as a toddler

I seriously thought this was fake when I first saw it. Who the hell would allow this to happen? No to mention to their own kid.

This toddler obviously didn't just know to pick up a cig and smoke it, I blame the parents 100% that is horrible, And as far as people wanting to see how big of clouds this lil guy can blow when he is of legal age, He'd be lucky to be able to breath without an oxygen mask and not to mention the effect it will have on his physical and mental growth.

gah I miss smoked dajaurms as well.. luckily I have this friend...

That is sick.. I dont care if it is par of the culture... you dont let a 2 year old become a chain smoker. He knows how to light up a sigarette before he knows how to stand an walk... to sad

It does but this is slightly different. This was not a member, someone associated with a member or someone being encouraged by a member.

I feel bad for this little kid because he never had the opportunity to analyze the pros and cons of cigarette smoking with the true light of reason. It's a nasty habit to kick and he could be stuck with it for the rest of his life. What were those parents thinking? Any angle you look at to try to justify why they let their 2 year-old smoke is ridiculous and shows their negligence as parents. Poor kid.

Ok, here's my feelings on the situation, it's completely wrong for this kid to be smoking, at the age they say is two even though he has entirely to much dexterity to be that age, but at the same time who are we to judge what another culture is doing with their kids this is the type of disagreement, obviously to a greater extent, that leads to wars.

Their is nothing we can do to change is so it might as well be left alone...
