Default Coals For Tangiers

Hey everyone. I had a simple question on what coals you would use for Tangiers. I'm just asking because I've heard a few different recommendations on different coals for Tangiers. I've heard around that Coco-Nara's get too hot and burn Tangiers. Sadly that's the only thing I've heard about it but I was just wondering what you Tangiers people use for coals and probably what type of foil you use. I just have some Pharaoh's foil. It's pretty thick but I wouldn't say it's like heavy duty thick. Thanks for all of your help everyone!

I use one layer of heavy duty foil. Coals I use are 33m and 35m disc quicklights. They have always worked just fine for me. I tried silver tabs once and they did ok but were quite messy. I don't use Coco's or any other coconut coal enough to comment on them. Wonderland told me about his packing method and it works perfect for me, I never use the rim level overpack method. Good luck getting Tangiers down, it's tricky but worth it.

I use coconaras for tangiers, i use two with a wind cover for a medium phunnel and I don't have any problems with the tobacco burning.

Eric (Tangier's creator) uses silver tabs from japan.
New cocos are supposed to work well, Drewzi probably has it right.

I use 1 layer of regular foil and 3 half-inch pieces of exotica charcoal on a small phunnel.

works great everytime.

I use 3 CH insta-lites for Tangiers Lucid, then I take 1 off after it starts smoking good...which happens to be 5 secs after putting on the coals lol

I'm not quite sure why I don't like using my windcover with Tangiers
