Default News on the Coco Nara Shape!

Master Detective King Nick has done some information hunting for you guys...

This is from KATE at Coco-Nara.us In regards to the new Coal shape.

"Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback and I want you to know that I do understand your concerns. I would also like to apologize for the bad experience you had with our Coco Nara Charcoal. This shape was a huge success in the Middle East so we decided to introduce it to the US market. However, we found that because of different hookah shapes and standards used in the US, the new coals were not conducive to the same enjoyable smoking experience as our previous version of the coals. Due to other feedback like yours, as well as my own personal experience, we have decided to go back to our old design. We have recently received limited quantities of the “old” Coco Nara shape charcoal that you are used to; and if you place your order on our website, www.coco-nara.us, I will personally see to it that you receive them… and a some free CocoTips. You may send me an email letting me know you’ve placed your order, or I will look for it by your name, Nick *LAST NAME*, correct? Again, I want to thank you for your feedback and for your loyalty to Coco Nara. We look forward to your continued business. Please feel free to contact me any time if you have any questions or concerns."

So there you have it, looks like we will be getting the good ones back after all.

I never knew the differences. What were all different about the old and new ones? How do I know if I have the old or new? And what are the advantages/disadvantages to the old and new ones?

From what I understand the newer CoCos were big cubes, where the old style was flatter.

Old cocos were flatter, the new ones, like shitless said, are cubic, which means less surface area, so they wobble around alot and have caused a lot of burnt floors.

Wooo Hoo I'm excited for the good old coals back. It was annoying because 2 + wc was not enough and 3 was too many.

Sorry to change the subject, but I was wondering: If Coconaras are barely starting to light, and you douse them with water, will they dry out in the sun and be usable again? My dad came home unexpectedly when I was lighting them, and I had to throw them in the sink and douse them. I hope they dry out.

If I go through a bowl and still have coal left over, I always run them under water. They will be fine the next day to use. No need to dry them under the sun.

+1 to this one. I'm not having any issues with the new shape but they do last longer.

Nick is just clumsy. I'm not sure if I actually used the new shape or what...but I haven't had any problems.

Way to go on the free cocotips, Master Detective King Nick!

I wonder if they will be getting the old style continuously after the shipment she mentioned? It sounds like they will, but the wording is not 100% specific.

Cubes are the superior shape. Only a fool would think otherwise.

Ok my verdict is in. I had a 16 piece of Coco's and those were the old style. I just got a 108 piece and I can tell they are the new ones. I prefer the old ones. Not too big on the cubes.

It's not a big deal. A lot of people actually prefer the cubes. Besides, regardless of the shape, CCNs are still the best coals on the market.
