I was surprised when i got the CocoNaras on Wednesday. I was like.. what?!?! Did they send me some bootlegs.

But they aren't to bad. They definitely do last longer. I like them.

I imagine that it will be some time before the "new," "old," shaped coals filter down through other vendors. It'll be interesting to try them out as I've only ever used the cubed shape coco's. I hope I'm not disappointed. I love the longevity of the cubed ones. That seems to be the only negative comment made for the rectangular shaped coals is that they don't last as long. Guess I'll see. Smoke happy.

I just got a box of the "new" ones in this week and I was wondering if they were knockoffs. Glad to hear you can still get the "old" style.

I found the rectangular coco naras easier/faster to light. No difference smoking wise though.

Can't wait to try some of the more rectangular ones so I can just form my own opinion. LOL But, either way, coco's are coco's and thats all I use. Smoke happy.

i honestly hadn't noticed the difference in old and new cocos but i prefer the old ones better because they have more surface area heating the tobacco at one time

I happen to enjoy the new shape. They last longer and ash less. I have never had problems with them falling off the bowl.

Cubes, rectangles, whatever, if you can manage your heat, your are the golden goose. Either way, they still are good coals and I enjoy them no matter the shape (well at least they are not round right? lol).

Heat up, smoke up, enjoy.

+1 i've had long sessions with 3 cubes and a wind cover on my medium tangiers funnel bowl. i had no problem of them rolling off since i always use my wind cover. i would of never got one but social smoke threw one in for free when i ordered my hookah.

I'm bumping this thread with an update: I just received my order from coco-nara.us and guess what? 4 kilos of the old-style Coconaras. I'm guessing they sent me the classic stuff because the box is slimmer and it fits into the USPS flat rate box for international fools. But if it's a sign of things to come, well, I'll let you do the math.
