Default Social Smoke Baja Blue tastes bitter

Smoked a bowl of SS Baja Blue today (first one) and it tasted bitter nearly throughout the whole session. I must admit that I burnt the shisha at the beginning but let it cool down after that. Perhaps that might be the reason? Used a small phunnel bowl, 1 layer of HD foil and 3 cocobricos.

Some brands can come back from the tobacco being burnt, some brands you have to pick out the burnt stuff from your bowl then fill in the gaps and go back to smoking, and some you just have to repack a bowl. With SS I haven't burnt a bowl, I thought I did with white peach but it was just white peach, lol. Do a new bowl, that is why I always try to smoke a flavor with two separate bowls before I review it.

I hate burning bowls. I would just try it again, as chewy said.

3 coals seems like a lot to me. I generally use only 2 coconaras on my mod bowl or like 1.5-2 33mm QLs. I have seen a lot of people use 3 or even 4. the hookah bar nearby only uses 1 coal, i'm not sure of the brand, but then again, he uses these tiny egyptian bowls too. cheapass.

pretty impressive.. even when i thought i was getting good at packing the perfect bowl, I will still get some burnt bowls.. harsh as shit, but easily manageable with a wind cover and moving coals around..

Anyone know how it compares to SB blue mist? Ive heard mixed things on the comparison. SB blue mist was a serious dissapointment in my book. burned right away and couldnt get it to smoke at all. i tried everything. 2 coals, 3 coals, vortex, mod, phunnel, ice in the base, no ice,. epic fail

They're both gross. Social smoke wins, but only by virtue of being not as terrible as starbuzz.
