Default Local shop selection

Why is it that no local shops (kansas City) carry any reputable brands of anything?! I called a store today claiming to have a "wide selection" of shisha, but when i asked about af, sb and nak, the lady on the other line about stroked out. She's like...uh...no we have (two brands I have never heard of, and can't remember) and fantasia. She goes, fantasia is AMAZING, I have never had anything like it. I have had similar results with places in st. louis. They just seem to carry shitty chinese hookahs, and weird no-name tobaccos. And jewels. ugh.

the biggest shisha selection in Idaho that ISN'T a hookah bar is a Big Smoke near my house. Nile, Jewels, Hookah Hookah shots (not bad), and Layalina chocolate. 50 bucks for a pumpkin, and 150 for a mini stratus. 8 dollars for an egyptian bowl, 15 for a dual head. 20 inch hoses for 15 bucks, and nothing but quicklights.

B.S.

I'm with you on the lack of selection.

Yeah that seems pretty typical of most local shops. The local "regular" smoke shops that mostly carry cigars/cigarettes usually only have Afzal, Rosetta, some random other no name brand and sometimes AF. The "Hookah shop" near the college carries Layalina, Starbuzz and Fantasia.. a few crappy chinese rigs and some overpriced egyptians. Thats why most everything i buy anymore has to be online.

yea, and the hookah bars get it online, and they want a piece of the pie, so its almost always cheaper to go online. but then you have to wait....

Im hella lucky where i am. Im located pretty close to asu (HUGE party college) so theres seriously 9 hookah bars and at least 10 smoke shops off the top of my head within 15 miles the far ones being right off the highway so it only takes a few mins. I can get starbuzz, nile, hypnosis, af, nakhla, fantasia, and tons of other small brands. as well as coconaras, mya, km, and syrian hookahs. plus all sorts of accessories. km pro hoses, everything. i guess i got lucky on location.

I think I have one of the best areas if you like SB or Fusion. I am in Orange County, Fusion is based out of Fullerton I believe, and Starbuzz out of Anaheim. So every hookah shop has at least one of those if not both. Then they also have the occasional laylina and al fakher selections. As far as getting the name brand hookahs, its a real hit or miss.. most truly local shops are all Chinese cheap rigs selling around $100. There is one with decent mods (MYA) and one with decent Egyptians (had Magdy Zidan at a huge markup of course, but I'm not sure what they are moving on to.) There are a ton of hookah bars down here. I'm sure it's in the 20s within 15 min driving range from me, but I've never really looked to see what they had to offer.

Gainesville doesn't have much at the stores, I've been to a few of the lounges but not all of them. Go somewhere with a decent middle eastern population where the prices and selection are good!

I live in a small town with only two sunmarts and a cafe, but in town our shops are pretty crappy. Starbuzz if you are lucky, otherwise its all hookah hookah (which I don't mind), and fantasia. Hoses are just terrible and one coal screen is about 17 dollars

Im in canada.. and you can barely find any kind of shisha here unless its SOEX herbal, which IMO is absolutely disgusting and it sells at best $5/ 50g.. I have found one shop that sells many flavours of Nakhla, but that stuff is to strong for me and they charge $12-15 for 50g.. Canada sucks for getting shisha..

I think up here(boston) we have the better end of the local shops. A bunch near me have nak 250g for $7, AF 250g for $8, along with Romman, SB. a few places have layalina and fumari too. most of the hookahs seem to be the cheap chinese ones you see everywhere though. Coconara's at the convience store downstairs and they also can exoticas for 8 bucks(1k fingers). I complain all the time but i guess i shouldnt be by the way you guys are talking

All the shops around me have very little selection, and only one has actuall hookah pipes, again fairly cheap chineese rigs. If i had the money I think a real hookah shop would make a killing, and then a hookah bar would be an awesome venture after the shop was well established.

Meant no offence. I was only in the city for like 8 hours, and that was all down town by the Hard Rock. Took the subway everywhere, it was very dirty, but would like to go back and bee the better parts of NYC.

If your shops have excellent selection I gotta give the city props.

Yip thats what we get in "rural" areas in Idaho (twin falls). I always order online or stop in SLC when I go to visit friends/family.

I have a smokers depo about 20 minutes away with jewels and hookah hookah shots. quick lights and a couple of hookahs, no real nice ones though. and then the tinderbox in the complete OTHER direction has starbuzz. the saharas across the street has the al fakhar, that's about it for me
