Default Carpet Burns

When I started using my Hookah, I didn't put it on top of anything, stupid me. After dropping a couple of ashes/coal pieces I had to use something under it.

Is there any good way of getting the burnt part of the carpet up? I've been soaking it a bit, then using a box cutter to scrape it up.

I dunno, but that sucks. Probably need to tear it up and replace it.

Patch it like this..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsX26bQ53sQ

If its small you can do something like this, pretty much just fluff it.

The method I seen is just cutting out the burnt part then find a place in your house with carpet that really isnt notice able if it went missing. Cut it a piece the size of your burn and just super glue it down. *Probally the easiest thing*

But the best best best thing to do is just where ever you smoke put down an area rug. Just today my cousin dropped a coal and it burnt almost through the rug but it would left a hell of a burn in the carpet if that 30 dollar rug wasn't there.

Title totally made me think dirty thoughts.

We had moderate carpet burning at our place once, and we just cleaned up the black marks, and now the carpet just looks thinner on the spot. we are lucky cause the spot in question is actually under our couch. damn thing rolled under their.

I once burned a friend's expensive oriental rug. To make a long story short, sharpies and watercolor paint saved my life. I also burned the carpet in my room to the point that I just took it out. Now I have sleek tile floor, my room smells fresher, and I no longer burn myself trying to pick up dropped coals at the speed of light

yea i now have a area rug from home depot i got specificly for the risk of coals but the best way to actually get burn marks out is to spray the heavy duty stain/rust removers on it and scrape it off. be warned that this may take some of the color out of the rug so make sure you only get it on the burned part. but if you absolutely cant just replace the rug, the cover up method with super glue works the best imo

now that i think about it, this is what we did at my place, but it still looked like it was a little more bald. still useable though.

We spent a good hour and a half getting it perfect so her parents wouldnt know that we brought the hookah inside, it did feel a little bald if you ran your hand over it, but just by looks you couldnt tell.

if it looks good, thats all that matters. the parents will never guess that the coal was to blame. I have seen my sis-in-laws place, they burned their carpet to the foam padding layer, not gonna get thier deposit back.

Use scissors to cut off the burned portion, and then grab a wire brush and fluff it up.

That's what I'm trying to avoid. I think the trimming and fluffing will work for these couple small burns. Thanks everyone for your input.
