Software that negates previous banned vendors products.

As for pattern it depends on what bowl you are using. Do a search, there have been many posts on the topic.

What type of bowl are you using?

Make 3 ish circles, 30-40 holes, There is no right or wrong way to do it, regardless of what anyone says...

Egyptian and mod bowls poke all over.
Phunnels and Vortex avoid the middle.

I use all natural coco-naras and for poking holes i generally do about 20 holes (diameter of my bowl is about 2.5 inches) and i put less holes towards the center of the bowl since it receives more heat especially with 2 coals to avoid burning the center.
General rule of thumb though:
the more holes: the hotter the coals will get when your inhaling aka more smoke
with less holes: harder for the shisha to become harsh, longer lasting bowl, less smoke

It's really all preference though

My guess is because it's slang for NT, which is frowned upon and discussion thereof can, from what I gather, get you bant.

I can't say anything about phunnel or vortex bowls, but as for regular bowls. There doesn't seem to be a wrong way to do it, 3 rings, 4 rings, small rings on the inside, big rings on the outside, or holes all through the foil. Experiment and see what works best for you.

Evenly spaced holes all around the bowl. If im using an egyptian i like to make the center hole a bit bigger, but its mostly personal preference
