Default modern looking KM's

Do they exist? I hear that KM's are the way to go but the old styling just doesnt fit me. or are they just such an amazing smoke you dont really care what it looks like?

The most modernish KMs look like victorian (castle) style stuff. Modernism as far of hookahs is out of place to me. Having a modern apparatus to smoke a traditional product doesnt do it for me.

Pears and carnivals are pretty modern.

I like both styles. I really dig some of the MYA/Sahara vases in terms of looks/stability. They smoke fine, but I still get the best smoke session from my KM, and love the "old world" look

KM's are made with such high quality, and I love the way they look, very traditional.
As far as modern km's go... There probably wont be any. But.... You could get a single metal stem and get a new modern looking glass base, since km doesnt make their glass anyways.

Yeah the "modern" look really doesn't play into the way that KM has made their name. KM has been around so long I would think that in their minds why mess with success.

Explain to me how the carnival/double/triple/quad pear style isn't modern? Plastic colorful bits on the stem seems pretty damn modern to me.

Not a KM, and a butt-ugly turd of a pipe. Thing looks like it would be absolutely awful in every possible regard.

I actually like and, were they readily available here, I'd probably have one though it does seem to have steep functional disadvantages. I enjoy the heat-sync "regulated" bowl

That being said, I agree that the pears are more of a modern look but I think your base and accessory decision will really be what make the diff.

Not the the advice I think most on here will like BUT I'll throw it out there anyways. Ed hardy makes hookah, they look pretty modern and from what I've read they are high quality. Keep in mind you will be paying the Ed hardy price tag tho....

I think KM didn't intend to make their products look modern or anything, I think they like it to be traditional looking.

I don't think he is. If you want a modern KM.. i would recommend a base change as others had mentioned, or etching glass yourself.. wherein you could create a more modern look. Besides that.. unless you pick one of the pears with colored parts.. or there are a few that have different styling (such as a pharaoh on the stem, or there is one shaped like a trophy i believe).. you are going to have to go with a different brand.

I agree that the most modern designing you're going to get out of KM is the carnival pear ones. I love the traditional hookah look, personally.

I have a KM HOL Dual Tone and I love it. I actually just bought a AF Medium Solid that's getting here on Thursday! So pumped.

lol no im not, which is why I said most people on here wont like it.....but its a actual option for the OP. It costs a lot and most people on here look own upon that hookah and the brand in general(which is fine) But if price isnt a big deal for OP and he wants a modern/hip hookah, why not go that route? It makes sense if he likes the brand and the hookah itself has already proven it is a quality hookah.....just way over priced. But discount hookah store beats just about everyone by like $100 on them....

The thing is, it's not a quality hookah. It's a rebranded inhale hookah. Inhale is a chinese company that produces some of the cheapest, chinziest, least-durable crap on the market today.

Buy an Inhale (Ed Hardy) hookah and it might last two years with careful treatment.

Buy a KM, and pass it on to your grandkids.

I know this was mention previously, but the KM trophy http://www.dirtcheaphookahs.com/imag...randtrophy.JPG

looks pretty modern to me, pair it up with a solid clear / grey or black base and a grey / black / white hose and that'd be an excellent investment.

maybe but one of those pyramid style bases, or something that looks like
http://www.hookah-shisha.com/store/p...-Acrylic-L.jpg or http://www.hookah-shisha.com/store/p...Mod-Bell-L.jpg
could tickle your fancy.
just throwing some ideas out there!
keep in mind, KM makes the stems, not the bases, so the quality will still be there, regardless of the glass base.
or make it out of an empty absolut bottle. that'd be cool to show off to your friends!
