Default Flavor Question

so what is more important to you?
the flavor being strong during the inhale or exhale?
how important is the smell of the shisha?
just wondering...
thanks

ok...so you say thick smoke...but the smell...
would this be a good way to judge...for you at least..
if you can exhale and completely hide behind the smoke...thick enough?

Flavor mut last the entire time, with no decrease or massive chances. It should be the same on the inhale as the exhale. Smoke is nice, but not always high on my list. Buzz, how long and how heavy ranks higher. And as to smell, if it doesn't smell like it taste, it does detract from the overall experience. I want my shisha to smell like it tastes, as normally that is an important indicator to the taste.

No, I don't smoke ciggys. Buzz refers to the CO2 increase* and the nicotine in the SHISHA TOBACCO. Although less than a ciggy, it still has nicotine. Certain brands are washed, thus have a lesser amount. Other's are a MUCH higher content.

Go smoke: Hoohak-Hookah, followed by Al Waha, Nakhla, then Tangiers. You will experince the "Buzz" effect first hand. I smoked AW last night and it floored me and I love that sleepy buzz. I smoked Hookah-hookah the night before and got NOTHING, not even alittle light headed from trying to get clouds.

* sorry, meant to say increas - you are decreasing O2 while smoking.

i understand the washing and whatnots..i was trying to just figure out how important it is..
I test my flavors here with about 20 regulars....about 12 of them are cig smokers..therefore they feel less of a buzz than me and some of my other friends...that was all I was asking..but thanks...

I am one of those people that hates buzzing. It is an awful feeling for me. I prefer a brand like hh which has a low chance of giving me a buzz.

Buzzing makes me feel like my heart is going to explode because it stresses me out!

For me constant flavor, how easy it is to handle, pack and smoke, smell of the shisha and buzz factor are the most important things. Value too! No need to charge $20 for 250 G.

Soex? I wouldn't convince my enemies to try to smoke it. KK is a H-H/HFk fan

Sorry, off topic. But yeah - I like a little buzz, but floor dropping ones like Tangiers are WAY too much for me to handle.

Fresh - try to get more non-smokers to try your shisha, that way you can get more of a "How's the buzz" feedback from them. Plus, no diss to ciggy smokers, but they are used to the harshness of ciggy - some very good flavors are very mild, they might miss them/taste them differently. (Prime example - my bf is BIG ciggy smoker, he likes HARSH flavors like coffee and zagh, but often can't taste the Esk Apples or Blueberrys).

good points..and thanks for the responses, I really appreciate the honest answers..
so the question back is simple:
is the shisha being messy an issue...
to sticky? wet? just overall ?

Very wet is ok (Layalina like) but goopey is a pain. It tends to melt & coat the insides of my rigs, requiring a good cleaning directly AFTER smoking to prevent it from becoming permanent.

But that doesn't mean drier shisha tobacco isn't good. Nakhla kicks bum and it's considerbly drier and somewhat oiler than most other brands out there.

I agree with Dmc..I enjoy the flavor more on the inhale... and the smoke must be in thick clouds..
Usually if i don't like the way it smells in the packaging chances are I'm not gonna like the way it tastes when I smoke it..

For me it is a shisha, that has NO stems! Thick, flavorful smoke on the exhale (assuming you have the right amount of heat), and longevity of the tobacco.

IMO the flav is stronger on the exhale for some reason.

I think the smell is important too bc it gives you a sign of what the flavor will taste like (at least most of the time..._

fresh, when you're making your tobacco, (i think you said it was Zona) the most important things to me are:

first taste - what it tastes like when you first get it going. if it's fruit, it should taste like you're biting into the fruit
longevity - the taste should last at least an hour. a lot of tobacco keeps the smoke going for an hour and a half, but the flavor only lasts for 15 mins
harshness - a LOT of this has to do with heat management, but some of it is tobacco quality.
smell - even if the tobacco tastes like a naked italian woman covered in chocolate and whipped cream, noone will want to smoke it if the box smells like ass. first impressions last.

don't worry about wetness too much. i, like a lot of people, use a funnel bowl, so the juices will just chill. they won't run down the pipe. (i say this but i just broke my funnel.. lol)

I HATE SOEX! EWWWWW. like smoking flavored wood chips, no thank you!

I don't mind a small buzz, but tangiers killed me in like 5 hits, and unwashed brands like nakhla lemon, and the like are just too much for me.

I like my shisha wet, but I don't want it oozing out of the bottom of my bowl onto my hookah. I hate that.

Smoke and flavor are MAJOR factors in my shisha purchases.

i like my tobacco to be as drippy as possible, and have a flavor that is just short of overpowering on the exhale. i taste almost nothing on the inhale. i would rather the smoke be some dense white clouds but if the flavor is there it doesnt really matter.

yeah i can agree there. I smoke and oftentimes i cant taste the flavor if say i go to the hookah lounge, but every kind ive bought for myself i have no problems at all tasting. could be something they do to it?
