Default The effects of honey

I had a friend tell me that honey works just like glycerin and I can use it to wet my dry shishas. Is this true? All help is appreciated

I've heard the same thing but it would serious depend on how dry the shisha is. If its completely dried up the amount of honey you would need to "remoisturize" it would be insane and ruin any possible smoke. But if its just a little too dry for you taste them it'd probably be "ok". But glycerine can be obtained at any drug store as far as I'm aware, so unless your broke its not really a risk worth taking

Actually, I bought some really dried up hookah from some Japanese smoke shop.. I didn't have any glycerin, so I used the honey. It made it smell really rich and brought the flavor out abit. Problem is; it makes the shisha require alot of heat and when your done smoking you need to soak your bowl. The honey hardens and turns it into a fucking hockey puck.
I didn't use straight honey I mixed it with a little bit of water and then poured it over the shisha, and stirred.

You could use glycerin, but don't use to much! Just enough to moisten the tobacco ..

I heard that it does kinda help with the sweetness. But it won't work as great as glycerin. It just makes it way too sweet. I'd say that if you have a baccy that isn't too sweet, maybe a teaspoon of honey will help

Hehe I forgot to mention about that :P Yea honey is way too thick. Too much honey will make that unsmokeable ...That is why if you need a huge amount to "rehydrate" the tobacco, glycerin is the way to go. I got my lil bottle from Rite-Aid...Its in the pharmacy section.

I've heard that the best results come from adding about a 1:5 glycerin to honey ratio. The glycerin causes most of the smoke, and the honey helps to take away from the chemical soapy taste..

I use honey also!

I use Honey & Gycarin mix when i get a fresh box of nahkla. About 5mls of honey [A Teaspoon] to about 20mls of Glycarin and mix like hell!

Leave to stand for a day or two - and mix it up again. Does not damage the signature flavour of the tobacco but gets it nice and oily.
