"Thread started on...." date on the main thread list page

I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned something like this, but I do know that I, along with a few others I've seen, have been seeing alot of resurrected threads lately. Some have said that newbies revive these threads in order to get their post count up. While this may be true in some cases, I know that I have posted by mistake on outdated threads after they have been reopened while overlooking the original date , as well I'm guessing most of us have. I know there is a date within the thread itself, and I am also aware of the option to sort between first or last posts but does anyone else think that having the start date on the actual thread listing page would be helpful as well? That way, while one is looking through the list of threads in whichever category they could easily choose whether or not to open an outdated thread, and you would still be able to sort by first or last post if you choose. Just a thought.

i was also going to make this suggestion. underneath the title of the thread is the name of the person who started it. maybe the "date started" could go next to their name. i think it would be a nice feature, and it shouldn't be that hard to implement.

Not a bad idea, also not to hijack, but I have been on forums that warn the poster before it is sent if the thread is over 6 months old, seemed to work OK.

gotta remember that's why they are still newbies to the site. but i do think the older thread's should have a larger font so people can read it so they know it's old it might help a little

That is also a good idea. I could see how it could help. It would suck tho if the poster got all the way to the end of his post (especially if it is a long post), then go to submit only to discover it is an old thread.

good thing ive had experience on other forums for my other hobby. haha. ive resurrected some of the oldest threads before by accident on my first one. the worst was 5 years dead haha. the only threads i resurrect nowadays are stickys. and the search feature is a marvelous thing. a lot of newbies just dont realize "proper forum etiquette" haha
