Well Easy for you guys to say here in Sunny SA we are forced to buy the Chinese knockoffs cause that is all that is available.

To get a good Syrian is about $110 ex tax and import duties and postage try the exchange rate to Rands and then compare it to the price of a knockoff off R100.00.

I saw a Nakhla Hookah for R179 has a screw on acrylic base all copper will try to get some pics for you this weekend.

I've had my mini hookah for a little over a year now, yes it's red, stainless steel, and it's in fantastic condition and smokes great because i clean it properly. Could be Chinese for all i know, probably is, personally i don't care enough to find out because it works just as well as my KM but i can travel with it, and anyone who gives me shit about it usually just gets laughed at for trying to kill my buzz with their hookah elitist silliness and feels pretty damn ridiculous afterwards.

It's a generic looking thing with no writing on it and i bought it for $35, so also it looks like i'm not supporting any big bad international malign asian hookah conspiracy threat either. Woot!

The only chinese hookah I will ever own is a Mya. I bought my girlfriend a QT a while ago and it's a champ.

As stated in the first post, Mya hookahs are the exception. Anything else and you are playing a game where the only winner is the house.

Its a worthwhile thread to revive. My first hookah was a MYA Vortex, I liked it because of the case for transporting it,still the reason I own it, and the fact its super easy to convert into a multi-hose when needed(using Razan hoses of course). But now I have had my eyes opened to the wonders of Egyptian Steel (and soon Syrian Brass) that I really only ever use it when I'm going places or smoking with a bigger group of people.
