in my opinion, i think your better off buying a new hookah. A small QT is really hard to customize, because of it's size. Maybe a KM, or a Syrian. Those are some bombass hookahs

A hose would defiantly a upgrade that makes a huge difference. I didn't know Nammor hoses wont work on a Mya QT. I don't see why it wouldn't but I could be wrong. The diffuser only really makes the bubble sound go away and does little to improve the session

I would find a Mya Wide hose. I haven't used one, but I hear they are washable, wide bore (easier to draw) and lighter in weight than a Nammor or Razan. I have a 22" Egyptian hookah and it tips easily when using my Nammor. I can only imagine the shorter QT would be a nightmare to keep upright when using a heavier hose.

If you make your own diffuser (see the homemade/DIY section), it would help w/ splashing, noise and only alittle enhancement on the smoke taste.

I would highly suggest either a MYA Wide hose, Nammor or Razan hose. They should all fit into the stem and would help the draw considerably.

Also, perhaps consider purchasing a new bowl as well - I like MYA bowls, but I like my Eypgtian bowls better. IMO, the heat managemet seems easier, but it could just be me. Many will point you inthe direction of a Phunnel or Super Chief - as long as you stay w/ Med or Small, both would work well w/ you QT (look funny - such a HUGE bowl on a small hookah, but it does work). Phunnels/Super Chiefs have a different design that holds the tobacco in it's juices, making the smoke more flavorful and last longer.

I consider getting a bigger egyptian as a beginner (like a 22")

Its b/c I thinking imo, MYA QTs might be heat management sensentive like other small hookahs and it ain't fun (I know from experience with my MYA NOU NOU)

If you get a bigger egyptian, heat management won't be such a pain...With small hookah, it gets harsh easily and you don't taste the flavs as much

If you are not ready to spend money for a new hookah, then wait ... and save some money and buy yourself a nice quality rig down the road.

For now, you can certainly use your QT. Get yourself a wide hose, such as the nammor, razen, mya wide hose, or the cheap $8 plastic hose at hookah-shisha

For a diffuser, check out the homemade section and you can make one to try out for practically nothing!

Hehe or you can just can a Al Fakher healthy hose for only like $2-$3 dollars :] It works pretty good for a cheap and washable hose. I did a review on it in the review section if you are curious about it.

I would vote for a Mya wide hose, a girlfriend of mine has one on her 19in. I used the ping pong ball diffuser method and it worked pretty well didn't notice a difference as far as smoke quality but its keeps from annoying my GF and cat lol.

Now for a recommendation you should get a tall bowl to compensate for the short hookah. Something like this http://www.southsmoke.com/pd_tall.cfm or even the tangiers equivalent it'll even make it look bigger.

I agree about getting a tall bowl for a small hookah.

I have noticed that when I smoke with a regular bowl with my Nou Nou, the smoke gets harsh fast. But, if I use my Tangiers bowl, the smoke feels cooler and it doesn't seem to get harsh easily.
