E-cigarettes=portable hookah?

So I was just reading the WSJ and there was a piece about e-cigarettes. I remember seeing these being offered in the mall several years back, but never looked too much into it. Today when I was reading the piece (and watching the supplement video) I came to notice that e-cigarettes are pretty similar to smoke hookah pipes in that it produces vapor like smoke and the "tobacco" (in the case of e-cigs the nicotine liquid refills) has seemingly delicious flavors available like "simply strawberry", "espresso", and "caramel apple". Kinda almost sounds like a portable hookah to me. Yes, the obvious fact that you are not smoking any tobacco leaves as you do in a hookah, but in the case of those who smoke starbuzz, fantasia, etc. what really is the difference?

I got a smoker dude at work...totallly loves ecigz...he can smoke indoors so thats a plus...vapor / portable /rechargeable > I gave him a pumpkin but he was like eh...oh and he quit cigz (been a month now)

Haha well it doesn't exactly convince me since it was a pumpkin..
I'd definitely like to hear from anyone who has tried e-cigs and some legit hookah pipes (ie. not pumpkin hookahs)
Whats your friend say about the flavors? Im kinda curious to hear how "good" they are

I would recommend checking the Nicotine Levels of any of those e-cig cartridges you get. I would say that goes far from being a "Portable Hookah" or giving you the same experience. if you want a portable hookah, this is what I own and it's F**king AWESOME!!!!

EH my roommate bought and e-cig a year or so ago so he could smoke in class. I used it a few times just for shits and was utterly unimpressed. The steam you exhale out is pretty lame...it doesn't feel like you are smoking at all. And the flavors were not good IMO. I don't smoke for the nicotine...I smoke for the natural flavors and the relaxation that comes from exhaling a big cloud of smoke.

Granted there was enough steam for me to shoot steam rings, but they were nearly impossible to see.

Im big into e cigs, ive used them for a year now, and i use them while out and about, hookah at home. the vapor production is based on the heating element and the type of e liquid. i personally produce a good bit of vapor when i use them

I saw a mini handheld hookah at a local shop the other day and it looked awesome.. I can't find it online anywhere though, everything at their shop was over priced but I kinda want to get it just to smoke wherever.

OMG... haha... i dont know exactly how safe that would be, but thats still pretty outrageous.. if i had the money i would probably pick one up just for shits and giggles

It's very safe, the dual wind cover makes it very comfortable to wear OVER CLOTHING!!! If you do it metal to skin, it can get pretty hot, but I'll do my best to post a review for it, I use it all over town especially when I go to the casinos it's the talk of the craps table.

He likes the flavors...what he likes the most is the fact that he can get his nicotine fixxx > the smoke thickness is pathetic when he puffs but he gets alot of flavor according to him / I forgot what flavor it was...but it had some hazelnut and he just adds a few (2drops) after it gets weak

hi everyone,i been using the e cigarette now for almost 4 months,and vapor production depends on the e cig your using and also the e liquid used,there are many e cigs that suck (especially the one that look like a cigarette),i have the joye ego and love it, produces great vapour,and great battery life.as for the e liquid it depends on what base is used in the liquid,if it is propylene glycol only, you wont get much vapor but if it is vegetable glycerin you get lots of vapor,its better to get 100 vg or a pg vg mix,as for flavors there is alot of good ones,but flavor is different from one company to the next.

cool stuff i just signed up and found this thread since the hookah can not be used in a place of work or on the road...to an extent at least i recommend looking into an e cig there sweet.. they are mini hookahs first thing i thought of it when i started.

I doubt it man.. E-cigs are more for nicotine fixes than tasting good.

One of my friends has an e-cig because he was trying to quit smoking because he hated the way he smelled all the time. It helped him quit smoking cigarettes but he is still slowly cutting back on his overall nicotine intake. He just has a cheaper one (10 bucks) and I have tried it once...definitely not a fan. He had some cherry flavor in that tasted really awful, and the vapor wasn't very good at all either. I looked up YouTube videos on them once and some of the more expensive ones actually get pretty thick vapor coming out of them...but I still don't see them as being portable hookahs.

prinbuck is right i also own the EGo and for the size it does give off some vaps is it anything like the size u can get from a hookah but it is getting there they do have flaovrs that taste pretty damn the same as hookahs prin check out velvetvapes.com and get VG cola its very much like havanna cola
